It already is the MOST over priced posi on the planet to begin with, but since its the ONLY one for our cars, I'm in for the right price.
See yeah

PS: Auborn used to help sponsor me, awhile back, and I tried them, with no luck. Detroit gear, no luck, Moroso, no luck, eaton, no luck. TOO unique of an application was the satndard

Something around the $250 dollar range that the Detroit Trutrac torsen diff cost me for my Jeep ZJ a few years back would be nice. The best I could find a month ago was $1,350.

I'd be shocked if we get it less than $1300 since the last group buy on Quaifes were $1350.
Heck installation is worse than the cost considering it's probably going to run about $700-$1000.00.

That is what has been keeping me from doing it in the first place, 1500 for a diff, and then another 1000 for install

Are you going direct to Quaife Co. UK, or through a wholesaler?
Reason I ask, as an "FYI" last fall I emailed Quaife UK about their option to "buy direct" which is mentioned on their website, just to see what the cost would be. They quoted 660 GBP as their price for the C32 ATB, and "parcel and post" shipping to the U.S. would run 117 GBP.
Even at today's horrible exchange rates, that still comes out to be $1,328 for the ATB, and $235 for shipping, for a grand total of $1,563 for an ATB to your door. I mentioned I knew nothing about international shipping, but thought that $235 sounded like a lot to ship a compact, 19 lb package, and they mentioned they'd probably allow a customer to arrange shipping if it'd wind up being cheaper.
The only "fly in the ointment" at that point in time was that Quaife had an exclusive distribution agreement with Autotech, which prevented the direct sale. However, IIRC, that agreement was expiring sometime in early 2008 (it may have already, I do not know).
So, if John Doe off the street could get one for $1,563... I'd think a Group Buy of 5-10 or more ATBs could potentially be cheaper than $1,550... might be worth checking out.

Thanks for trying Jerry![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
But that is still insane for a simple posi, IMHO. I just can't justify 4 figures for a posi. Not after Auborn use to build me custom, one off racing units for $300.00![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Anyway, keep us posted if something comes up, or should I say DOWN!
See yeah![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
PS: To whomever asked, you can DYI if you have a dial indicator, and some good shop skills, but it is NOT for the faint of heart. Gear noise, and longevity are CRUCIAL to a good gear pattern which is NOT that easily accomplished. I have tried, and this is one of the items that I let a shop do for that reason. Also you can go back and complain when the rear end howls coasting down a hill
