The difference in the '05 and '06 are that one is a 2005, and one is a 2006.
The car was only produced for 2 years, and there were no changes therein.
The real difference is in the warranty. Both will still have the factory warranty on them, but you'll gain an additional year of coverage per the '06, assuming that's important to you. For me it would be.
The Nav deck is way more attractive than the standard unit. I was really surprised at how plain the standard unit is on these cars. I guess you need to determine if you'll have a need to use the Nav system. It's certainly nice to have, albeit not the most user friendly system. I've used mine one time in 2 months, but it did the trick.
At the end of the day, you've gotta' decide if you want to look a little more sophisticated in a white car that you'll still have to use Mapquest or buy a Garmin --- or look a little younger and sporty in a red car and not get lost.
Either way, you'll love the car!

If I could go back and reconsider, I'd get the car without the NAV. For that $2,200 extra on the sticker, you could get yourself a nice Garmin which works in ANY car not just C55. Not to mention the MB navi isn't the best and the updates cost you $$$$.
One thing I wouldn't have reconsidered is getting something other than white.

Although, I could see some pretty nice rim choices for the red one.
Damn it's a tough decision. I'd like to see how nicely one could mod a red c55. This may be a little rice in some people's opinions, but these rims on the g35 look amazing, maybe some thing similar on a red c55 would look the same.

These rims would be amazing on the red c55.
the single disc in the headunit does not play MP3 CD's. MP3 CD's can be played in the 6-disk CD-Changer on both the 2005 and 2006 cars.

Well, as I understand it, MP3 capability is actually in the CD-Changer itself. It basically reads the file and tells the headunit it's reading off of a normal CD. That's why it's limited to 99 files per CD.
