just removed my resonator
I payed $50 at pro muffler in Arizona. All I can say is it sounds so good! I feel no loss in power and IMO car feels stronger, but that probably all in my head.

I actually going to weld it back..
I personally think we loose a bit torque under 2900 rpms..
but like you said.. its all in my head.
I driven the car for over 2 years with my resonator removed..its nice up top but not sure about down low.
I'll get around to it soon.
I have to fix my seat modules first and do a trans fluid change.

I kept mine just in case i wanted to put it back... for now i'm loving it.
FYI the stock resonator weights 8.5lbs give or take a few depending on were you have it cut My guess with new pipe is you save a few LBS at best or those who are worried about weight.

After looking at what was cut off. The resonator inside looks like a solid pipe that stops for at a chamber then continues in to a shorter perforated pipe. I guy at the Muffler shop said that the resonator most likely can cause resistance due to the chamber and sharp angles at the point of the break in the pipe at the chamber. Then he hit me with some philosophical stuff saying all resistance is resistance
Then said I now got better flow and might feel a change. I think i feel a difference? It isnt the difference you feel when the condom brakes that for sure, you can feel the difference in that. All in all Car sounds killer. by far best mod you can do for the money

I will post a sound clip on Saturday if my hangover allows. no sound clip is going to do justice to what the car sounds like in person. on the highway there is a nice new hum that lets you know your driving a killer car.
when your behind the car the sound is night and day over stock. low RPMs sound amazing I had my brother take it for a spin and it is just perfect sounding. you will not go wrong by doing this mod. and after speaking to a shop foreman at Mercedes telling him what i wanted to do IT WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY! Nor will headers or exhaust systems as long as the sensors are in the correct spots.
If you like a deep throaty sound this is the best band for the buck by far.
