Just back from a week in San Diego. Car observation.
1. A lot of Mercedes (SD and La Jolla area). In fact, lots of german cars in general.
2. Cars are generally in great condition. Older Mercs look great.
3. Exotics (Ferraris, Bentleys, R8) everywhere but almost all of them had NO TAGS, just dealer logo plates. What's the deal with that? Are these demo cars? Does Calif use temporary plates?
4. Roads are nicely paved and banked.
5. I drove a Ford Explorer all week. What a POS. Soft springs with firm antiroll bars made it handle strangely. Weak brakes and trash interior.
