Code 3 vs LET HE
I know both are great products.... I have done my research and the info I got was that Code 3 HE is a little larger and LET HE is a little lighter only real difference..(NOt a big difference in the big picture). Both work great..
Ummm but can someone verify this for me:
"No welding or no new holes to be made. (welding meaning the arms already fastened onto the Unit) and the HE can be held by the old bolt locations etc. There are no "bolt" locations on the stock HE. It has clips that hold it into place. I think both units will require you to drill new holes."
this a copy and paste from a different post. Basically I would like to know how each are attached to the vehicle. CODE 3 has arms welded on and if i read correctly no drilling is needed for this Unit???
Maybe LET and Code 3 can chime in.. Thankss

Our unit does not require any holes to be drilled. It bolts up using the frame to crash bar bolts. Here are some pictures of our unit.
I have 2 left in stock from our last batch.

Potentially, yes - I believe MRAMG1 has the Code3 HE and needed to re-route his headlight washer lines for everything to fit properly. Not sure if you have to do that with the LET unit or not. FWIW, he remarked that this is a very minor inconvenience.

This is still true. You simply pull the washer line from the tank, and slide it in above the crash bar, instead of below. Takes all of a minute to do.
By the way, the original units had smaller, square end tanks. The new units have larger angled end tanks for superior flow.

Thanks for the info guys and what about lining up of the hoses.. There are no kinks or bends just a perfect fit for both Code 3 and LET..
As for Code 3 it is larger than LET's???How much space is there before it meets the bottom portion of the front bumper. Inquiring since my car has been lowered.. not by much but some forgiveness would be nice for thse piched driveways.....
Thanks

Our unit lines up with the factory hoses. The lower engine cover goes back on, and the new HE is about 1/4" above it. Although, I have never had issues with the unit hitting anything. As far as the "tooth", we originally had a clear piece to replace it. However, we opted against using them, and just cutting the "tooth" out. I have had it cut for quite some time now, and never had any issues.

My [editted 12:24pm on 6/4/08]LET H/E did require a drilled hole...It mounted to the as stated "crash bar" very clean install.

Humm SO FAR???? why would it if does not need any additional holes like you said...I am a little confused.. Does LET's HE need holes drilled or it uses the stock holes for the "crash bar"..
I think I need someone from LET to chime in please..

here is a picture of mine
I actually had to move mine over a inch or so after the picture. Its a piece of cake to mount. Takes longer getting the bumper off. You need to drill one hole for the bracket you see on front or the bumper support. I drilled a whole and used a sheet metal screw.

As c3232c said and showed(via the picture)...you could drill and make a sheet metal screw easier to go in...but not being a proficient mechanic I would guess the right self tapping screw would fit.... Either choice is good imo...

and the warranty on these products??? And one final question what is the purpose
of the "Tooth"
thanks

Lifetime warranty, if it breaks because of a defect, we will fix it...
the tooth is a brace for the center of the opening...

Hey, just went back and checked this pic (attached to post #16) more closely... doesn't look like the washer lines were re-routed on the install of the LET unit -

Pardon my ignorance, what is the black tubing that appears to be running between the LET HE and the crash bar in the post #16 attached pic? The LET mounting appears to be somewhat different than the Code3 version - which is clearly mounted flush against the crash bar (larger pics in post #2)
