Question 285 Nitto's Anyone?

I want to get a set of drag radials for the summer and the Nitto's seem like the best option being that my C55 is a DD. The problem is the smallest 18in size they make is 285/35/18. I know Nitto's run pretty small but I am still thinking this is a stretch. Anyone running this set-up? Do they rub?

Thank you in advance,
Alex

I heard 255 is the biggest you can run without rolling the fenders

I had 265 just fine. 275 and up would definitely rub.

I bought 245s for my 17" rims due to that Nitto 555Rs didn't have a 255 that fits my size...so 265 will fit also? what about a 17" rim?

c32used- How much smaller were your 245 Nitto's vs stock 245's? The 555r's I have seen all run really narrow for their rating. Looks like I might be SOL for finding drag radials that will fit on 18's and my car..

When you pick them up, I would be curious if you could measure the 245 Nitto width vs the stock 245 width. The reason I am curious is that I did a little a work at a peformance shop a couple years ago and the guys running Nitto's always adjusted for them running so small.

I am currently running 255 in the rear so can you please wite in this thread the lenght of the 245 tire that is stock? I bought this car used and it had 255s to begin with so I am clueless to the width of a 245 stock tire. But will check...

Sorry I think I was a bit irrelevant. I wasn't talking about drag radial tires particularly. I had 265/30 NT555s on 19x9.5s and they didn't rub.
