Did I get a defective IC pump?
I finally got around to have my IC pump replaced today, I went with the OEM pump part number A 000 500 03 86 which I think it's the updated version? Anyway, I didn't have much drive time, but everything seems alright and the car is pulling strong. BUT, there's this 'woooo' sound that's pretty loud as soon as I turn the engine on, and I can actually hear a pretty loud shutting down sound about 5-10 secs after ignition cut...
Is it true that the IC pump shouldn't be loud at all and you can only hear it after the engine's off? In my case, it's pretty loud and I can hear the 'woooo' sound inside or outside of the car as long as it's running. Did I get a defective pump or the sound will dies down after the pump is "broken-in"? Thanks!

Check N make sure your wires are hooked up correctly. IF all fails, Buy a johnson Cm030 pump as a replacment, It'll hold up longer!!! I can image HK rite now it must be HOT As Hell.

I tried searching for the Johnson, but it adds up to be $200 with shipping to HK... The local OEM available is $275 and no waiting so
So you guys think it's bad? Could it be bad bearings?

Anyway, the dealer is exchanging my OEM pump free of charge now so let's see how it goes. I'm going with OEM since it was available (well.. didn't know Johnson was available too..) and I'll be selling the car in a few months for the C63 anyway, so I guess OEM is better.. :P
