Tires with Quickest STEERING RESPONSE?

For "street" tires... Yoko Advan Neovas are great IMO.
Anything with stiff sidewalls will make you happy. But they will likely get noisy earlier than tires geared for comfort.

can also try the falken rt615 / rt215 ... they r very grippy ... close to track tire for road use ... and reasonable price too ... not that i sell them but had rt215 on my old e36 ... u get the same steering angle with less steering input ...

1. Street Bridgestone 050 PP's, grip almost as good as R tires at the track
2. Kuhmo Victorraces, last about 2500 miles, and are VERY trackable
3. BFG R1's last about 1000 miles combine, Can't be beat.
4. Goodyear R coumpound, Vilian tire, don't expect longevity here
Note: There are ALOT of good tires out there, just don't bet because they have a stiff sidewall that they are a good corning tire. MANY, MANY other factors come into play, slip angle, tread compound, etc, etc.
See yeah
PS: For the hundredth, and last time " Friends DON'T llet friends by Michelins"

please explain why. all i've had on my cars (2) are michelins. i had a set of pirelli p-zero's that came with my car, but they were terrible. i'm on ps2's now and loving it. hoping to get ps3's in february.

The best tires I've used for the price are Goodwrench G-Force Sport. Just recently had to put new ones on the rear after 20k miles! I first had some Yoko S-Drive the rears didn't make it 10k... The G-Force can hold first gear for the most part. No noise, and have very good traction.

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 has exceptional turn in if that's what your looking for and they run straight even with toe out. Very predictable tire at traction limits. The PS2's didn't do well at the track but were excellent on the street. The Pilot Sport Cups were twitchy on the street with toe out and unpredictable at the limits of traction. If I go back to a R-compound tire I'm trying Hoosiers. I'm on AD08's at the moment.

Dunlop Star specs are tearing up alot of tracks this past season.
And the Bridgestone 050 PP's are still up there with them.
Just don't expect more than about 5K with either.

Michelin pilot sports are fantastic, yes they are expensive but they do exactly what they are supposed to do with no fuss. That being said, there are plenty of great alternatives as well. Hop on tirerack.com and look at the reviews of the other tires.

Ever since I've owned heavy eurospean cars, I've stuck with Bridgestone RE-01R's, now discontinued and replaced with RE-11's. Both are great tires for track/auto-x. They are noisey and have great road feel. Don't bother with any budget tires, you need a good quality tire with a stiff sidewall. I find that cheap budget tires only really work on really light hatches, golf, civic, Focus, etc. The most important thing for 3200lbs+ euro boxes are a stiff sidewall. When I tracked my BMW with budget tires, I always completely wore the sidewalls while there was still 80% tread left on the tires at the end of the track day. I always had to junk them even though they had loads of tread left. Some people will tell you budget tires are fine because they grip in a straight line, but for track or auto-x they are almost useless.
BTW, most of these higher performance tires get horrible tread wear for day to day driving, something you might want to consider if you drive the car a lot on the street. My car is mostly in the garage, so tires isn't a huge investment for me. I ran on DOT R compounds on the street for a short time. I got 5000kms, maybe 8000kms max out of them! ouch.

Keep in mind that the auto manufacturers work out deals with tire companies BEFORE the car is ever released.
AKA, just because the car came from the factory with tire brand A, does NOT mean that it was the best tire available at that time.
To each his own, but go to a few track days, open track events or SCCA and you will NOT see many PS2's out there.

I used that tires on my C55.. It was a great tires but then it was kinda noisy.. Like a mud tires.. Traction was good though (8/10 in my book)
