A 997 C2S or C4S (even if it's not an '09) would still blow a C55 out of the water. The weight distribution, better tranny, handling ability and much lighter chassis make it waaaaay more fun than any non-Kompressor AMG and dare I say 63. I test drove a 2008 911 C2S back to back with a C63 AMG and I gotta say that I was waaaaaaaay more impressed by the 911. The only thing that the C63 outshined the 911 on was braking--the standard brakes on the 911 C2S were nothing close to the standard AMG brakes.

Go for it man! My only advice would be to wait for the 2009's. The Carrera S (and even the non-S) models will be getting a bump in power as well as amenities.

So, you are saying that a C2S will outrun a C63?? Very doubtful. Pehaps in the twisties, BUT straight line?? No way. A TT , yes, a std C2, no way. Best your going to wring out a C2 is high 12s at about 108-110 . Again, we are talking stock cars here.

Well my car may be for sale soon. I think I've decided to sell my car and save for a year and then buy a Porsche. Keep your eyes peeled for my car

Damn, that is one clean engine bay. I would keep the C55 for a daily driver/Costco runs and get a Porsche (996 ot 997??) on the side! You don't have any supercharger failure to worry about in the C55!!

Although I'd love to keep both the C55 and get a Porsche. I just can't really justify it. My father will be giving me a Ford Ranger Pickup truck with 56,000 miles on it and it's immaculate so I might be driving that until I can afford the Porsche.

Thanks for the kind comments about the clean engine bay. I wash my car weekly with a soap foamer and wax it monthly. I claybar it once a quarter and vaccum it every week. I also quick detail it everytime I come home from driving it. OCD is what I call it.

Also the C55 won't hold it's value like a Porsche

I wouldn't go too far below $33k unless you're in a pinch.

Don't count on that. The non-turbo/GT cars plummet in value. It is not like the days of yore with the 993's (which are astronomically overpriced). Lurk on the boards and see what they are truly going for, not what people are 'asking'. Also take a look at the true black book wholesale on them. Part of the problem is the paranoia associated with the RMS leaks/failures but there have been a fair number of catastrophic engine failures involving slipped sleeves. Even the 996 GT3 and turbo resale has gotten pretty bad due to the presence of the 997. Oh, and the 997 is not immune from its own issues. They're substantially better but they are still having issues.

Definitely save up and get the GT3 or T/T.

C55 has it's own merits...Resale value is good on Porsche's cuz most people have them as a 3rd car.

The engine bay looks like new. Good job. I gotta get mine like that!

I would price your car between $32K - $34K.
