Just not as many people tune mercedes compared to japanese and domestic cars. It should be possible with more R & D.

the immobilizer isn't really the issue. Lot of the japanese cars with immobilizers can be programmed via obd port. Thats how a lot of the guys with turbos can load different fuel maps via laptop and obd connector to pass smog or for the track.

its coming.. and already being done to MB cars and BMW.
For the bimmer boys its called Shark Edit I believe and lets you customize settings or load certain pre programmed settings.
There are companies doing tuning for decades but now slowly coming to the MB side.

they are taking wires from the ECU and attaching a "chip" to change parameters or make the ECU thinks something else.
In some cases they are installing a small processor like Xede or Procede.

So is there any chance of us doing something along the lines of this, or does the kind of programming that we need to do in remapping the ECU impossible with something like the "juice box".
