Question
So I haven't really been that interested in getting a Sprintbooster since it doesn't add any power.
But after thinking and reading about how so many people like it, would you say the below this is a fair characterization of its benefits?
The Sprintbooster does not add any power, but will make your car faster since it is more responsive and as thus you will have faster throttle response?
Does anyone by chance have any proof or improvement of quarter mile times?
Thanks in Advance!

Just as stated WITH CORRECTION...it shouldn't improve the quarter but who knows maybe someone should test it on the track

c32used- what you said is completely true. it's not going to provide any added performance via numbers at the track or dyno. however- it will make the car feel faster because the touchyness of the gas pedal is changed. it was a worth while investment for me. i hated the way the drive by wire felt- it feels much better now. i can't comment on how any of them work besides the non-amg unit that's made for a stick, not an automagic.

where did you get yours from?
how hard is it to install one?
I am thinking about getting one but Im not sure it will be worth it since it does not add any numbers. I think my throttle response is pretty good now, but I have never driven a C32 with a SB besides Jerry's old 2002 C32 but that had a lot more mods so it was hard to tell. Does the SB make the car a lot more jerky when normal driving, like is it too touchy(if that makes sence)? Also, which one would you guys recommend, the AMG or Non-AMG? Is there something out there like the SB that allows you to drive your car with the stock throttle response then turn it on when you want the TR better(kind of like the sport mode on cars or like the M mode on the M3, etc...)?
Thanks,
Bobby C.

to the best of my knowledge- there are not any switchable units.
it requires a little getting used to/finess (*sp?)- much like the larger throttle body did on my ford focus. after a couple hours, it comes as second nature.
the install is easy- i believe there is an install video on their website. it takes about 10 minutes (5 of which for me, was to find the correct size wrench).

That's funny! I was not really following this thread because of all the others that have beaten this subject to death. I just happened to start with your last post and remembered your promise from a while back. I was just about to go find that post a poke a little fun at you when I scrolled up and saw this line.![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)

Actually, even though the sprint booster does not add any power, it does make the car a little faster not just feels faster mainly for two reasons:
1) It eliminates the inherent lag in the famous Mercedes Throttle response system. This makes the car starts moving earlier, and of course you hit full throttle earlier and faster. So for example, if there was a variable delay in the stock Mercedes throttle response, lets say 0.1 to 0.2 seconds, then your car would be 0.1 to 0.2 seconds quicker to 60 mph, in the 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, etc....
2) Because the sprint booster is very responsive, it invites the driver to drive more aggressively, which makes the transmission adapt to a fast-shifting, sporty mode.
Using G-Tech Pro RR, I was able to gain 0.1 to 0.2 seconds to 60 mph (assuming a good launch) with the sprint booster vs no sprint booster. When I was running my tests, I used the same car, same driver, same tires, same gas, same street, same time of day, same weather conditions, etc.....
