Replaced my s/c bolt. M8 x 1.25 x 25 is the correct bolt dimensions. Regarding the 3mm hollow it’s not due to reasoning of expelling s/c oil. The assembly (where the thread is) is solid so no oil can be channelled via this route. Bolts are also hollowed to reduce weight (race bikes) but this obviously doesn’t apply to this application. So it is safe to assume it is simply a safe guard for over torqueing the bolt (20mn) thus avoiding further damage.
