Secondary cats deleted

And the car sounds bad

But, I noticed a hesitation for power delivery when I pressed the gas pedal after about 5 minutes of driving. After pushing the gas pedal a few times the car didn't accelerate so I floored it and it didn't do anything. I got to a stop sign and restarted the car and it launched well, but with noticable lag.
I have a faulty primary cat that I was going to replace today, but they didn't have any in stock, so hopefully tommorow when I replace primaries everything works fine.

when you say lag do you mean when the car is ready to shift it delays on you?

boy that's weird. I've never encountered such hesitation, if anything, it added more grunt on take off and a very slight hum during cruising at 70 MPH. And I've had the resonator out at least 20 months now.
With a PowerChip tune, a Code3 pulley, Iridiums and a CM30 pump, this thing's a beast. how common is it to have a faulty primary cat?

Good Luck on the cats and hopefully, get the beast BACK!!

I'm not sure what you mean by shifts. By lag I meant the delay in response of me pressing the gas pedal and engine reving up. But there was some hard speed transitions that I noticed, it could be a placebo effect though.

My right primary cat "melted" according to my SA back in August and it caused misfire, so they replaced the whole downpipe, but recently I took it to 1/4 and was running almost a second slower than what I usually run. Took it to exhaust shop and they said left downpipe was much cooler (malfunctioning) than the right side. I have zero knowledge of how exhaust systems work, but my educated guess would be that the current problem I am experiencing is due to reduced back pressure (after removing the secondaries) and it somehow effects the faulty cat and causes the engine not respond or something. No CEL's yet, and god I hope there won't be anymore for atleast a year or my dad will replace the C32 with a Ford Explorer lol.

Thank you!

I don't know how common it is, but there are a few threads in the C32/55 forum out there about it.

could it be a failing IC pump? That's one of the early symptoms (lagging response intermittently).

I doubt it
1. because I just got a new Johnson pump during the summer.
2. It started this afternoon after I got the secondary cats deleted.

Shot in the dark.... Since you freed up flow maybe the bad cat just is not able to meet the flow the good side is giving. Since there was restriction with the secondary cats it was enough to balance out the bad cat??? Now that you have no 2nd cats the good side just flows free but the other side is not flowing as good. I would, If you got the cash, just get that cat fixed or some after market cat ASAP. Knowing that you have a bad cat thats the first place to look. How did you 2nd cats look? there is a chance there could be another problem too. Granted i dont much about the symptoms of a clogged cat (never had one). Just find it strange a bad cat can cause the car not to move at all when in gear and peddle floored.

Did you reset the car after deleting the secondary cats? I experienced a similar behavior when I removed my resonator and the problem was fixed by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes...
