Wheel Shimmy

When coming to a stop from 30 mph or above the steering wheel gives a solid vibration/shimmy. My first guess is the brake rotors. Car has 64,000 miles do you think the control arms could be bad? Car is smooth on the highway only does it when braking.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll order a set Monday, just found out I had a broke motor mount as well.

you should also check your control arm bushings since your going to be down there already. i had to change my upper control arm bushings a month ago at 37k miles on my 2002 c32. i was suprised to see that in a car with only 40k miles but hey....

When I bought the car, the front right rim was bent pretty bad and had to be replaced. I noticed some hairline cracks on the bushing for that side. I hate to buy new rotors and that not be the problem or vice versa.

Also, how bad is this motor mount job going to be? Is it a DIY weekend job?

Listen go to a really good machine and I mean really good shop and they can turn your rotors. There is a min thickness on them make sure they only take off the min.
Good luck

It's my understanding that you can't turn drilled rotors. Just replace them. I bought drilled and slotted rotors for all 4 corners for $249. No worries.

Check the "newbie" sticky at the top of this forum. There is a link to the L2 rotors. The vendor has gone a bit hinky and raised prices since. They are still good rotors at a good price, if you can get them. I found L2 on eBay, but they turned out to be a local SoCal company for me.
