Wheel Offsets. Lets post some setups to see what fits or can fit.

I'm interested to see what size wheels can fit our W203 AMG's. Lets see your set up's I am going to use "sdsilverm3" car as an example since I dont yet have any wheels to show.

Size
F: 19X8.5 +32 235/35/19 with 5mm space which would be a +27 offets (I think)
R: 19X9.5 +32 265/30/19
Not sure of any fenders are rolled or not

this may be a stupid question but i gota ask: are spacers bad for the car? do they take anything away from the drive? i have always wondered this but never got a ans.

not really as long as you do it right. Get the right ones for the car with the hubcentric centers and what not. Also make sure you have long enough studs/lug bolts for it.

You are ALWAYS better off with the CORRECT offset wheel, period. Spacers are just another route of failure my friends, with MANY potential headaches. With that being said, the above advice is good, ESPICALLY remembering about LONGER wheel studs/bolts. But NOTHING beats the correct offset, and with SO many wheels available there really is NO GOOD reason not to order the correct wheels to begin with, IMHO.

See yeah

Lorinser LM6 19x8.5 19x9.5

Some pictures from my old C320:

Front: 225/35/19 19x8.5 ET38 w/ 7mm spacer
Rear: 255/30/19 19x9.5 ET38 NO spacer

On a side note, they are for sale and I'd give local pick-up better pricing

I'm running 18x8 front ET35, 18x9 rear ET 32 BBS RG-R's with 12mm hubcentric spacers in the front. I really don't have any decrease in ride comfort, but I definitely have better brake pedal feel and steering response since they weigh around 9lbs less at each corner, and are pretty much the lightest non-mag wheels I could find. Although you barely can fit a credit card between the wheel and the front caliper.

My friend runs like 15mm spacers on his NSX with either his BBS or Volk wheels and tracks the crap out of it, so there isn't too much to worry about.

I guess you have never seen one crack? Or how about shatter at the track?

The frist of course only leads to a bad vibration, the latter, well you get the point. I NEVER said it could NOT be done. I simply stated that why in the world would you NOT buy the correct rim in the first place

Oh well, to each his own, but if I wore to spend $4000+ I certianly would want the right rim that oh I don't know FITS MY CAR

See yeah, and enjoy

Well these were the wheels that I wanted and this was the only way to make them fit since BBS doesn't make the exact offset for this wheel. And I paid 2k with tires so I couldn't pass up that deal. Besides I don't track it so I'm not worried. I figure that since the same wheels/spacers can handle that kind of stress on the track, mine should be fine. If I were to track the car, I probably would be different wheels for that with non-street tires, e.g. painted stockers like other people do around here.

... are always a good time.
Great topic... as long as it stays on topic! Thats why there are "PM's"

I will be fitting some 19's in a few days. Working with 32F and 35R. Unrolled fenders and dropped with HR's and stock shock pads. Tire selection not established. 255's or 265's.

As for spacers, it takes a little work to get the right rim. I thought about spacers for a minute. Then I thought about track days and decided to go with exact fitments.

Good luck!

Miguel

Let me know if you need some 255/30/19 tires.

A friend of mine has an unused set for sale.

BBS sells wheel specific spacers that are high quality, TUV approved, and come with the appropriate bolts. I ran them for close to 2.5 years with no issues whatsoever.

How many wheel companies in the US can claim TUV approved even with the correct offsets? I can count them on one hand. BBS being one of them, even with spacers.

BBS RE
18x8 ET35 (10mm PFS from BBS with bolts) = ET25
18x9 ET38 (took the 5mm PFS off due to excessive rubbing on rear tires)

235/40/18
265/35/18 (yes the size is the reason for rubbing)

DCR Laguna Seca
19x8.5 ET30 235/35/19
19x9.5 ET35 265/30/19

Carlsson 1/16 BE
19x8.5 ET28 235/35/19

HRE 448R
19x8.5 235/35/19
19x9.5 265/30/19 (don't remember the offset sorry)

19x9.5 ET38 265/30/19

Lorinser LM-6 replicas
18x8.5 ET35 225/40/18

19x8.5(F) 235/40x19 32 Offset
19x9.5(R) 265/35x19 35 Offset

H&R Springs with stock spring pads. OEM shocks.

Lots of rubbing when driving in the City. Especially with passengers.

Required some trimming of the rear bumper/trim metal bracket to reduce rubbing. (10-15 minutes with a Dremel MotoTool)

Still have a slight rubbing only when drifting the car. Otherwise there isnt any rubbing anymore. Will lift the car again for another session of trimming. Or maybe I will have to finally get a set of Koni's.

265/35/18 (yes the size is the reason for rubbing)

Have you tried rolling the fenders to clear your 265 x 35s?

You have a good aesthetic selection of shoes

I've contemplated on switching to 18s but, honestly, 19s really look much cooler, I've gotten so many compliments out there on the road.
