Got into an argument with an Evo IX...

The VRP chip showed it's true prowess. We took off at about 75 mph. He had the jump, but it was quickly obliterated at 90 mph. After that, Lenneth just raged forward. Pulled a lot harder than she was at stock.

Either way, the Evo was put down and I was victorious. Now to search for fiercer opponents.

nice run! what was done to it?

we can destroy those up top at highway speeds like 75+ b/c of that small engine and turbo. i wouldnt recommend racing one from a dig unless you have drag/street radials. glad you enjoy your tune! what is the next performance mod on your list? pulley maybe ?

Nice kill, but yeah from a dig, modified IX's can be a real dangerous. Lot's of modded ones running 11's or even the nastiest ones in the high 10's.

All I have are Green filters, resonator delete, and ECU tune. Going to swap the Greens for a full SL 55 intake next, then pondering a pulley of some kind. Trying to see if that Evosport ODPS kit is still for sale in our classified. If not, I'll probably do a Code 3.

C32 doesnt compete with an evo performance wise. Only thing I could brag about is the luxuries.

stock sure, modded yes it can. not with upgraded turbos. at the AMG event, the EVOs were trapping 97 (granted they were probably driven by bad drivers and had little to no modifications done to them).

i have beaten my fair share of EVOs on the street (in Mexico of course) with turbobacks, boost controllers, intake, and the like.

but yes, there is that limit....once they go bigger turbo with a larger FMIC, then the C32 cannot compete with an EVO performance-wise.....unless you of course upgrade the s/c, try a turbo setup, or run a nice shot of nitrous or meth injection. but of course, all of these except the latter are not common (though that TT is being worked on i think). but no ridiculous shot of nitrous (100+ shot) has been used yet to my knoweldge.

well i DO live in Tucson.....the closest thing to Mexico for those who havent been. The main street in Tucson is called Speedway.....famously named because of its reputation as being the location of tons of street races in the 90s.....Tucson had a huge reputation for street racing until the city cracked down on it.

anyway, the scene reorganized and is large again, but is now located in different areas....and there are places that are essentially impossible to get pulled over at because of no onramps and dividers inthe highway that is 3 lanes. it is a special highway that some use late at night....it is safe.

When most people mention Mexico, they do so because they do not want to incriminate themselves for doing such an activity in the US (not that any of us do cough cough). I mean the same thing, but even moreso because of my proximity and because of where I go, there is little enforcement. hopefully that clears it up.

I have owned a Evo VIII for 4 years now, and i can tell u that stock for stock the Benz would win but if that Evo has for example intake, exaust and tune then theres no way the Benz is gona keep up. Even an E55 would have a very hard time keeping up. just my .02

By the way my evo is pushing over 650 WHP my weekend racer

Yea thats what I was talking about. Ive got an 03 evo 8 as well. To start the evo is at a disadvantage cause its I-4 2 liters AWD. But bigger turbo manifold, exhaust, headers...my c32 can't keep up.

Btw sounds like a beazzzzzzttt.

The Evo IX can do wonders with the stock turbo. 11's can be had with a full exhaust, tune, and increased boost. The Evo VIII needs several more mods to achieve this as it has a less efficient turbo and no MIVEC.

That being said, I beat an EVO IX with just an ASP pulley (first mod) in a street race; took him off the line and all. He had at least a cat-back exhaust but probably didn't get the best launch.

I miss my Wicked White Evo IX at times, but damn was it a rough ride.

I guess for me, having luxury 'and' power is more important than just having a fast car. Besides, if I were to go Japanese, instead of screwing around, I'd just get a Supra and put everything in the grave with it.

There is not a C32 in existence, modded or stock, that will out perform my little 4 cylinder below! My car comes from the same motor family as an EVO. 4g63T

That is the truth!

However,I'd like to see what a TT C32 might be capable of doing. I'd still be up for the challenge.

i obviously should have clarified what i was saying....stock or lightly modded, the C32 can keep up or beat, especially on a highway roll. once you upgrade the turbo, do a fmic, tune, cam, headers, its obviously a different story. there is only so much that can be done to the c32 with the stock blower on it.

I've blown off a Supra Twin turbo from a dig. I had three passengers. He had
one female.
I seen him every now and then in the neighborhood. He has earned the respect from my C32.
