The Sl65 is a great looking car in IMO. Plus a v12 biturbo that comes along with it surely helps!

i say viper if your adding it as one of the choices. Its nice to have a v10 and the car is going to be pretty rare, since chrysler is going to discontinue it or there going to go bk.

But are we not paying (the taxpayers) for the bail out? The viper was an option, but i think i will stick with the E55...for the money an SL65 is going to cost, i could buy an E55 and a nice used Viper or something else...then there is always the money left over to modify the E55 if i want to...err..i mean if SHE wants to.

I'll tell you that modding an e55 to a stage 2 car will amaze you! It makes so much power that it's nuts! Hop over into the w211 amg forum and check out vr700 package on an e55 FTW

For me its a no brainer E55,

Bigger interior, more mod potential, and sorry AMG but you guys dropped the ball when you dropped the supercharger IMHO. FI motors are SOOOO much more fun to drive on a daily basis, again IMHO. Exact reason I got rid of my M's and switched to a AMG.

See yeah

No Frank:

Got rid of the M roadster for the C32. Scary part, other than missing the button to put the top, I REALLY don't miss it at all. Heck the C even gets MUCH better mileage to boot.

Okay, I do miss that button

See yeah

2002 C32 ///AMG
I just took a spin in an 09 C63 at a local dealer yesterday. What I liked about the C63 were the handling is just phenomenal and the transmission shifts are amazingly quick and hard. From a standpoint of power, I still prefer the SC'ed E55. With the E55 prices coming down and a ton of lease turn-ins there will be deals to be had in this economy if your in the market for an E. The E offers a more luxurious interior and interior styling vs the C. It's still a coin toss in my book. You can't go wrong either way. Both are fun fun fun in their own ways.

Have you considered a CLS55? I was looking yesterday at some prices and they have really come down in price - even here in Canada. You have the same power as the E55 with better handling and newer looks (Subjective I know).

+1 I've seen some really good deals on these. The depreciation seems to be steep and the prices off MSRP on decent mileage examples are good. I got a ride in a CLS55 last week and that is one sweet ride...My favorite MB sedan.

Judging by the mods you did on your C32 I suspect the E55 won't remain stock for very long!

You're probably right . With the C32, most of my mods were to get the car to where I thought AMG should have had it in the first place (more power, lowered for handling and to remove the infamous fender gap, 18's, quad exhaust, rear amg calipers/rotors). Upon driving the E55 for the first time, what struck me was the difference in handling. Some of it is getting used to the different charateristics, weight, etc. But I suspect I will want to try to make improvements in that area. The C32 is pretty tight and tossable in the curves here. I don't think I'll get the 55 to that level, but it is a different car in many ways.

As for power, I think I'm good until a C63 passes me. I'm sure I'll be running out for the pulley/tune when that happens...
