While back I read on this Forum that our cars set servise intervals based on driving habits, oil quality, miles driven etc.etc..
I did not pay any atention to this info-seemed not too important, and probably is not.
Latelly I've been driving a lot and drove 300 miles over for servise B. At the same time message popped out: Add 1qt of oil. So I did. Than Service B counter reset by itself to : Service B due In 700 miles. Before I added oil it read: Service B overdue 300 miles.
That means our cars must analize oil to determine when oil needs to be changed.

the C AMG's at least the c32 and c55 have oil sensors, your supposed to use 0w-40 if not the car will complain, haha be sure to get the oil changed, and keep it up to date, these cars have very advanced computers.

If you go past your service based on the mileage countdown, it will just give you an additional 500-700 miles (don't remember exactly but since you said 700 I assume that is it) before it tells you you're out of time again.
I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with you adding oil, but rather you went past the counter and it gave you a few extra miles before yelling at you again.
