My version that which will be the replacement of the C32 is a C38, with 6-speed auto in 2005, when the new SLK comes.
The engine will came from the SL 350, but I am sure that the Kompressor that the AMG will install on the C38 will have the same boost of the new 55 Kompressor engines 0.9 bar. Thus, the hp will be slightly improved to, I guess, 370-380; however, a huge improvement in torque, I guess, 500-520 Nm so far. Our C32 has 1 bar and the potentiality of the C38 will be realistically higher, due to the lower OEM boost and intercooler capabilities.
No doubt that the C38 will be quicker, especially in the highway due to the better torque and the 6-speed…..

The new SLK is comming out next year in spring. I talked to my mother in law who works for MB Belgium and she got it from the big guys.
Of course when the new AMG SLK will come out is another question.
