Hello my fellow W203 owners.
On January 14th 2009 I made a purchase from ebay user Roveractive (I made the purchase through paypal because he gave me a $50 discount told me not to pay through ebay). He was supposed to sell me a "Mercedes Genuine Rieger W203 C Class Rear Wing Spoiler". What was supposed to take two weeks delivery took exactly 47 days when it arrived today.

I smelled something fishy when the seller started telling me that paypal gives 60 day period to recall a transaction (they give you 45). When I told him that I would have to cancel the order on February 22 he said he just got the wing from Germany and was shipping it to me

I tried calling him, but after a ring it gives the old dial up internet thing and I just hung up.

No Rieger marks of any kind, no made in Germany stamps just a #488121401.
It doesn't come close to fitting on my trunk. I want to get more than my $450 I paid for the wing out of this guy, I could of bought something usefull with that money and instead I ended up giving him a free loan. And come to think of it, paypal is probably going to make me pay for the return expenses.

This thing looks cheap as shiezer and was probably made somewhere in a third world country.

Was this a ebay transaction or was it conducted out side of ebay, If so take it uyp with ebay and you may be able to recoup your losses. At one time Paypal gave 30 days to resolve a problem but I think they may have upped it to 60 days. Try resolving through Ebay as well

that *******..!!! Roveractive is actually really expensive, i was looking on buying the RIEGER roof spoiler off him but found it $100 cheaper and item was here in california not germany.. you should open a dispute..

1. Please remove that thing on ur Benz it looks pretty bad worse then Ricey..imo
2. I think you wrote you handled transaction outside of Ebay...not a good idea at all.

I hope you are able to recover your expenses thus far. Please sorry if I sound a little blunt.

If it's not too late then I would open a paypal dispute. I couldn't tell for certain from the original post if your cutoff date was the 22nd or not. Even if it's been too long I would open up a dispute anyways.

I've used their dispute system a couple of times and it really is great. I have nothing but good to say about that piece of paypal.

if you paid with credit card through paypal, issue a charge back on your credit card and get the money back.

I don't think you will be able to do anything on ebay other than complain that the seller sent you a paypal request and didn't want to start an auction for the item. Even after the 60 days paypal probably won't do anything either. Best thing to do is get his address from your paypal account and post it up here. Maybe someone will be close enough to pay him a visit for you. I was able to track the seller that took me for $26 bucks on a dashmat. I got his home address and grabbed a pic from google street view. Then told him I was coming by on my way to famoso. I got credited the next day.

I recalled the transaction through paypal a few days before the deadline, we're talking it over right now. To my surprise the sender appears confused

Sorry I looked quickly and didn't notice it wasn't mounted sorry I should have known better...but I just realized what last poster asked are your exhaust tips bent?

Usually any time they want to take it out of eBay it ends up being a shady deal. My friend did it with an xbox and never received it. Paypal didn't refund the money and he ended up having to dispute it with his credit card company. He got the money back, but lost his paypal account. They will also freeze any funds you have in the account anywhere up to 200 days iirc if you decide to go that route withdrawal the money and delete your routing number off your account a few days later.

i hate paypal & fleabay!, and ur spoiler is prbably from taiwan., same thing happened to me w/ my m3. i wanted smoked side corners... well, they sent em, but you know it's real or not when see it. also, watch out for those guyz saying just in from germany. ur product still looks good though
