Posi Traction?
I thought our cars didn't have LSD? I burned rubber the other day, and to my pleasant surprise, I left two long dark black rubber coated track marks.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
What is the difference between what we have OEM and a Quaife LSD?

the Quaife LSD is a mechanical LSD and will effectively help put the power down to the ground and improve traction.

I turned off traction control. I don't understand what the need is to replace what we have OEM if I can lay down serious torque to both wheels already?

we basically have e-diff. The computer cuts power to the wheel spining faster. Even with traction control off, its still on just not as apparent. You can only turn off traction control by going into dyno mode.
The mechanical lsd splits power to both wheels evenly to create more traction.
Get it? one your cutting power to get traction, the other you just splitting the power between the two wheels to get traction.
Its just cheaper to program in a e-diff then to add another mechanical component.

OP try putting it in dyno mode if only 1 wheel turns it just that the ESP works very well at mimicking the posi feeling...I do the same and lay down serious rubber to.

With good track prep, you can cut great 60' times with these cars. I've done as well as a 1.80 and several 1.81's on Z rated tires.
In a straight line on dry pavement, these things will lay nice long and even tracks with the rear end stepping out the whole way. In corners or on wet or cold pavement is where I whish I had an LSD.
