What else do I need to strengthen?

Other than the engine block, axles, drive shaft and rear subframe what else would I need to strengthen in order to support a single turbo feeding my SC to make 25lbs of boost?

I've been told by both Cory and Vadim that the C55 block with the hardened Alusil coating can withstand quite a bit of boost but anything over 25psi would be pushing it to an unknown terrritory. I can do something about everything except for the block which is not practical to sleeve but I don't know what else will cave in to the anticipated load/stress on the frame.

I know everybody advises against doing this but what if my shop just plump a small turbo (Garret GT35) on the left side of the engine compartment and blow into the SC instead of the original plans to drop in two bigger turbos (GT55s)?

Vadim wants to get the added boost SC going first and let me drive it for a while to break in the new motor and then bring it back for the turbo conversion.

These are exciting times for the C55s - VRP/Kleemann and DynoComp/Renntech projects going on at the same time. Watch out BB, we are right behind you.

To me, this sounds like excellent advice. IMHO, see what you can get with your rebuild and turning up the wick on your current F/I setup. What if you get whp/wtq in the 500-550 range? Or even 600? Drive it for awhile and see if the performance is suitably impressive... or if you need to drop more money into it for the turbo system(s).

I thought you posted that you were no longer considering the turbo approach, since MB/AMG might be TT'ing more of their engines within the next few years?

As for what you need to strengthen... I think your list looks pretty comprehensive, assuming you're still doing the upgraded tranny in your sig.

He did. And before that he was doing a TT, then just the SC, then nothing, then back to the TT, now the SC + single T. Ok, maybe not it that order but....

AMGSC...Vadim gave solid advice. Finish one project then move on to another. You have spent more time with your car in the shop than you have driving it. Get the car out and enjoy it! We all want to know what she dynos with the work currently done anyway.

I DON'T COME HERE ANYMORE
honestly....sell the car and buy an SL and upgrade the turbos on that....this sounds like way too much investment into this car at this point-its great to break boundries-but I would let a shop car do it-then build off (any) their mistakes.
I would think cooling from the 35 to the sc would be an issue (hot forced air getting forced again....I cant imagine what the IAT would be on that)-maybe try an even smaller turbo (K03/04)-a 35 is fairly big (imho)-

Well, I brought up Turbo feeding SC concept only because it was suggested by Vadim as an idea. I don't know enough to suggest it would work but thanks for a logical concern.

The car is being reassembled this week and should be done by Mid April latest. The original ETA was Mid-March so we are month behind schedule.

You didn't mention QT (Quad Turbos) but I soon realized what a wacked idea that was!
