res delete and removing 2 cats questions...
I have a 05' c55, I'm scheduled to remove the resonator tomorrow. When I brought it by the shop the guy recommended that I also remove the secondary cats and put in a x-pipe that he will "make". The total price is $560.
Is that a fair price?
would you recommend buying an x- pipe for him to install vs him making one?
Should I just do the res-delete and not get involved w/ the sec. cats?
warranty no longer effective after removing second cats?
I appreciate ALL replies to this post. I have many other questions but i will post later

I just had my secondary cats removed yesterday (already had the resonator removed). It will only void the exhaust part of your warrenty, so you're fine there. I'd recommend you do both
Im still not where I want to be in reguards to sound, but it does sound much much better with both removed vs stock.
Price seems a bit high, i spent ~180 for both (resonator delete alone shouldn't be more than $60 anywhere you go)

I'm glad to hear there are still shops pulling cars (tech. they shouldnt unless they are being replaced)-but 560 is high-you can get $50+ for the cars alone at a junk yard-I'd shop around a little on that one-
you'll def hear a change, and there will be some (small) gains on the power from the second cats going (no worries on CEL, ect-you're all good there)
Enjoy!

Yea i just called a few places that have experience with the 55's and they said for the res delete and the 2 cats removed would be $230. Why was this other guy trying to charge me $560?? beyond me! I am still not having any success finding an x pipe online?

just got a call from the shop, they said it will cost me $425 for the two cats removed, res-delete and the time for him to make the x pipe since I don't have one for him to install. I live in the philly area if anyone can recommend someone that works on these cars I would greatly appreciate it!
