white and whiter
i've never driven a high strung, high revving car like the M3. Any of them for that matter. I always hear that up top in high RPMs, its a whole different experience. Could you or DLSJ5 please try and explain exactly what this is like, when comparing to say, a C32 lol. The only thing I can think of that I have been in that screams top end was a 700whp single turbo supra, but i'm sure thats different lol.
when you want to GO there's nothing better than the song of a high revving NA motor, but when you don't want to go the high revving sound can be loud and annoying.
when I'm driving my buddy's M3 I normally keeps it under 5k so it stays quiet and comfortable although it would feel lazy and boring at times.

eh....idk. i think the laggish shifting will hurt. i once got a CLK550 as a loaner (ik, im friends with the GM of Tucson Mercedes) for my C32 when it was stock, and it seemed to be really similar. so idk.

I also have k&N drop in i will be running 100 octane and have nothing in my trunk( no spare, no jacks, no plastic) so i might stay very close to the new M3 sedan atleast i hope 2.

I drive a E92 M3 (childhood/family friend's car) almost every week. I can tell you if you keep the rev up on the street you are just in for a torture. There's no reason to rev it up when driving normally which is my point for normal dirving on the street. From stop light to stop light driving under normal conditions his BMW buy-back E92 335 was more fun to drive. The s65 V8 engine is awesome, but constantly revving it on the street can be annoying even to the driver. lol

so then hypothetically, if i have more hp ANDmore tq (wheel numbers or crank numbers) AND weigh a little less (using weights previously listed in thread), then it shouldnt be a problem for me

Since all these cars have transmissions. You guys also have to look at the gearing and not just the crank hp and tq. With more rev's you can have a lot more aggressive gearing.
Gearing multiples the tq you put to the ground. So in theory a car with less crank tq can still put more tq to the ground then a car with more crank tq if the gearing is high enough.
Just the problem with higher revving engines is that peak tq band is in the higher rpm range, unless you start doing some intake and exhaust manipulation like honda.
Honda's i-vtec allows for 90% of the cars tq to come at the first 1500rpms without FI.

considering that a lot of people are putting down 360-370whp on a dynojet with a LEt 185, tune and intake. Which is closer to 450-460hp to the crank, assuming 20% drive train loss from rwd and since its a auto. A fully modded c32 would beat a e92 m3 in the straights.
The turns, probably not.
