Need info on an electronic gas actuator??

My service advisor said my electronic gas actuator or air slide valve, or mass air meter (he refered to it as all three things) is bad, giving eratic readings. My local dealer has to special order this part and is $1450. The car jerks violently and fluctuates +/- 200rpms at about 1700 rpms in all gears. Would this part cause this problem? and does anyone have a part number for it? and possibly a place online to get it cheaper? Or maybe there is something I am missing??
Its item #550 on the diagram
Thanks

My my understanding The throttle body for all 55's and I think C32's is the same. There are guys who have upgraded to a bigger throttle body in the 55k world and I'm sure will part with the stock throttle body. I had Both a C55 and E55 throttle body and I dont even know what one I put on my car.... So what that means is I have an extra throttle body kicking around the shop. That I would part with for dirt cheap. Its off a 55k and I'm almost 100% sure it will fit. The throttle body actually came off my first supercharger I bought way back in the day when I started my retro-fit. I will get you details tomorrow about it.
