Murdered out C32
Met a guy at the German race wars who had a super sweet E55. In talking with him he told me he had a tuning shop in Munich-Redline Racing. So of course I packed up the family and visited his shop which is about 180 KM from me. He mostly tinkers with AMG engines and the other basic stuff i.e. suspension, brakes and the like. He even said he has a SRT-6 bored out to a 3.7 LTR. Didn’t see it but I assume its bada$$. Apparently he used to work for Renntech in Florida. He said he has some mock ups of a carbon fiber intake for our C32's!! Sounds interesting. Didn’t see it though.
So anyway I was mainly interested in the flat black foil he had on the car which he does at his shop also. I am going to do this to the C32 in a week or so. Does anyone have opinions? Any experience with this. I think it looks great.
Attached is a pic of his car.

Interesting. How much to get the car covered with this flat black foil? Is it painted on or wrapped or...? Could be a really cool look!

I look forward to seeing how your car turns out. Should be pretty sweet. Then get some blacked out rims and tails and you'll be set. I just so happen to have a blacked out set of tails if interested.

Is it vinyl? I've also heard about a new wrap (perhaps 3M?) that literally is paint - not sure how they do it. Either way, I think it'll look great - very menacing... definitely not subtle, though.

Truly menacing. Can’t wait to see this theme complete on the 32. This guy could make a mint on making a standard a kit. Any idea on the thickness of the "foil" wrap?

Honestly, not a big fan. It's definitely different, but I think it looks kinda tacky. For some reason flat black on a $60,000 car doesn't do it for me. Although, he did do an immaculate job.

Take a look at the Brabus cars with full flat black paint. It looks amazing. The included pics above don't do it justice I'm sure.

its just the 3m vinyl wrap we have here in the states.
Here's a pic of a nissan GTR with it done.
Flat black is awesome if you have everything to go along with it.

Lol, definition of irony right there...
Are you stationed there or just living? While I was in, I was thinking of PCSing near heidelberg...kind of regret it; I had a blast while I was there for 2 weeks just vacationing.

Stationed here. Been here all together a total of 5 years or so. With the Euro to dollar rate its easier to get certain things from the states.
Perfect example is.
KW V1 not including shipping
Eurocharged....... $1,499.99
E-Bay Germany...EUR 1,229.00= $1732.20
Today 1 Euro costs a $1.40
Thank God I get a cost of living allowance.

Looks nice on the Nissan, BUT if window tints are any indicator, good luck getting that stuff off. I had my lenses on the ML 55 headlights cleared a few years ago and trying to get the protective tint off them was a real bear. I can't imagine the whole car???

Redline Racing picked up the car today. Should be done on 29 or 30 JUL. Caught a glimpse of their new carbon intake on a E55. Looks sweet. Wish me luck...
