It's plastic..
You can get leather for it, but remember that if you want it to match you'll have to order nappa leather for it. Then, if your car has inserts, you need to decide if you want to match the leather insert color or the black.
If I were you and this were an issue to me, then I would call AMG in Germany and ask them the price of a leather covered armrest. You could even ask them to put the /////AMG logo somewhere on it; they'll do literally whatever you ask if it's possible. And in return, they'll charge you accordingly.
