No more Chriping sound..... (Netherland setting issue)

No more Chriping sound..... (Netherland setting issue)
I had to use a spare key (w/o battery) to open the car last night. Since the key didn't have battery, I had to use the actually metal key that are attached to our remote.. When I opened the door, alarm went off for 1 sec then it went away. Only emerg / fog lights were flashing. I didn't think it was a big deal so I got my stuff out of the car, locked it, and walked away..
Well, I found out today that car doesn't make chirp sounds nemore when I lock / unlock it.. Out of my curiosity, I even pressed PANIC button but only fog lights and emerg lights were flashing.. No sounds… Horn was working fine but no more alarm or chirping sound...
Anyone else had similar issue? Is there a any reset method I should try before I take it back to my mech?

Ahhh.. So I need to replace the siren... I wonder how much that will cost...
Ne idea??
Thanks again and Yes, take your car to dealership and ask for N-land setting... It'll chirp once when you unlock and 3 time when u like it

My 55 doesn't but, ask the dealer to use the MB star diagnostic to change regions if you want the alarm to beep or not beep.
If your adviser is "cool" or "nice" enough-no charge. It takes seconds to do and I suggest asking when your car is getting serviced. I work for Mercedes.

FYI, Chirping mode may or will ruin your alarm siren.. (may be drain the internal battery?) Mine doesn't work no more and I'm in process of getting a new siren......

I had mine switched to Netherlands back in like 02 (one of the old secrets from the c32life forum). No problems with it since, but it does disable the panic button. Dealer did it for free.
