Key Fob Question

My lock/unlock button seems to be intermittent these days. It is strange, has only happened twice since I got the car (about a year ago), but this week it has occurred two more times and doesn't appear to be going away.

When it works it works, but when it doesn't I have to "flick" the fob to get it to work (most of the time, yes, I'm technical that way).

Haven't tried the spare, but I'm assuming that one will be either close or in similar shape.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to fix or is it a replace by vin # or something?

If you haven't, try replacing the batteries first. You can definitely replace the thing at the stealership. I've heard prices from $140-350.

OK, I'm looking at this thing and don't see where I'd open it to replace. Do I just remove the valet key and pry the thing open. There really isn't a crease around it......just looks solid.

Just take it to the parts department they will replace it for you.

Yeah, the manual describes it. You take the valet key out, then use the key to depress the grey piece under where the key was. With that depressed just pull the end straight out. It slides out like a CD tray.
