Not to digress. But....

"American financial aid to Israel began in 1949 with a $100,000 trade loan and peaked in the mid-1990s at over $5 billion a year in grants and loans. Over fifty years, the total in grants and loans has amounted to $79 billion."

This is what the US does to retain a certain balance of power in the Middle East and protect our oil interests.

And we're concerned about $50 mill?? Hell A-rod is making $25 mill a year.

Amen, but it's the same with EVERY administration. Bankrupt our kids to feed the beast for another month or two. Sigh.

When did logic go out of style?

Alfa Romeo

Also, one could argue that the MB C-class is "affordable", as is the BMW 1-series, and both companies also offer very expensive, technologically advanced cars. They are excellent examples of manufacturers that debut leading-edge technologies on their premium lines and then have it trickle down as the development costs get absorbed through sales of those premium lines. In a few years, the C-Class will be 100% carbon fiber and have 1000 hp. Trickle down, baby!

on a real note: I know a few very well off people. The last thing on their minds is saving at the pump. Heck the last thing on my mind is saving at the pump.

You know whats crazy make sure you dont charge your Fisker during peak power hours. You may save at the pump but when your electric bill rolls in at the end of the month, it will make your eyes pop out after a 16 hour full charge.
Undeserving? I take offense to that...
