Can you please be more specific? Do you have any pics etc? Mine clicks, but doesn't move. Tried to push it down, but no joy...

So - Now with other projects done, I'm circling back to the sunshade. No movement or noise and still stuck up, Fuses look good. It is developing moisture behind it in these colder months, so it is time to get it down. I have tried pushing as hard as I felt comfortable, but don't want to break it. Can I get a pic of where I need to tweak the mechanism on the drivers side to ease it down? Any further assistance appreciated

Ghiaguy,
It sounds like your are experiencing the exact same situation I had with mine.
Do the following:

With the sunshade up you are able to see the motor. The motor has a thin metal rod sticking out, toward the driver side. Take a small hammer and tap it inward, to the passenger side. Now press the sunshade button.

This procedure only allowed me to have the sunshade go back down and does not fix the issue.

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks,
Derek

I know this is an old post but I wanted to say that I started reading about this all over the internet and read this post and decided to give it a try. Once I was in there it all started to make sense. Pushed the pin from drivers side to passenger side and Bam!! got it to work. It was stuck in the up position when it hadn't been used in some time. Getting tint installed tomorrow and no more worries. Thanks for all of the posts that make this thread so helpful.

If you bend the sunshade down, away from the window, you can have access to the motor. The motor has a metal rod that sticks out of it toward the driver side of the vehicle. I was able to get a small hammer down in there and gave the rod a couple of taps inward toward the motor.

I went to hit the button and the sun shade now works.

Own a W209 but it did the same thing one day. I was sad that it had become another item to fix. Then I flattened the front seats while in the rear and just bent the arms inward a bit immediately after tapping the button. Now it works 100's again. I found it is better to close the arms with a gentle touch while you hit the button as this helped mine to retract. Tried it the other day again and still working good.
