W203 Rear Sun Shade Won't go Down
If you hit the button and hear a humming in the sun shade, chances are its shot.
You can do it yourself, you just need patience and some basic tools, its a few bolts that holds the sun shade in place you can get to from in the trunk though the bottom of the rear speaker deck.
You also need to remove the two rear interior C pillar panels (be careful of the air bags), and the rear speaker deck, you will need to fold down (or remove the back) seats in order to get to bolts that hold the deck in which are located behind the seats.
According to the C Class W203 parts catalog - Blind, Roller Part# 203 810 03 20 is $1260.00

Then one day I was in Bangkok and I noticed that my aunt's car has a blind in her E200k. I asked her driver if he ever had the problem with it. He told me from time to time it either fails to go down after being up for a while. What he did was to nudge the assembly around and it would then work. It may take a few goes before it works. When I got home I naturally had to try it out but doing the same and wouldn't you know, the darn thing started to work. It's working ever since for the past 5-6 months!

Removing the rear deck was difficult, but i took my time and completed the job in about 2.5 hours.

Anyway, after you get the deck off, you're going to need to drill holes and secure with new fasteners - preferably a nut and bolt rather than rivets.
I do this on my w202 AMG I hope it's a good thing doing this randomly?
Retrofitting this option is a bit-h accordin to my personal mechanic, I held a gun to his head
and he installed this option on my car.Never again I do this mod to another car he said.

PITA job as they say
I can get access to the motor if I bend the sunshade down slighty. I am going to try to tap it with a hammer to vibrate it and maybe it will work.
If you bend the sunshade down, away from the window, you can have access to the motor. The motor has a metal rod that sticks out of it toward the driver side of the vehicle. I was able to get a small hammer down in there and gave the rod a couple of taps inward toward the motor.
I went to hit the button and the sun shade now works.

you saved a few bux.

Option A: Push sunshade down until it goes down
Option B: Remove rear shelf and sunshade, and use torx to turn motor to close sunshade. Reassemble
* I removed the fuse for the assembly after I put it down *
I never use the rear sunshade, and useless if you have or plan on tinting your rear windows
