Records are meant to be broken VIDEOS!
Tonight at the track it was looking like a night of bad times. the DA was hovering around 3000ft when I got there. After some lack luster runs. I just about gave up. Thinking the DA was just to high to run anything good.
after a long wait from some cars spilling on the track the DA dropped to around 2500ft. I gave it another go. I ended up hitting an 11.74 @119mhp, That beat my personal best by 1/100th. I'll take that. Not to mention my old best of 11.75 was done at about 1800ft. Being able to beat that at around 700ft worse made me feel good even if its on by a 100th of a second.
Also my burnouts totally sucked, I got some rust on my right foot thats for sure.
JTurkle (josh) was also feeling the effects of the DA and only muster up a 20 second pass on his first run lol
. He got it together and by the end ofthe night he nailed a 12.93 @109mhp.Thats a personal best for his C32. Not to mention he was getting tons of wheel spin on his street tires. His car is much faster that was he was able to run. Better DA and some slicks and he's got a mid to lower 12 second C32. So big congrats to Josh on his best time to date!
Evan (Cruzinquick) was in the bracket race with his SRT6. For people that don't know Evan, he is just about the best bracket racer I know. He always wins against top guys. On the Final run Evan broke out from his dial of 12.32 and ran a 12.30 WTF lol! So he came in second from being 2/100ths faster than his dial. Evan is going to need a storage space for all the trophies he's got from racing his SRT-6
Here are some of the runs

I got more videos I will post them in a few.

DA between 2550 - 2900 during the night. Evan has a sweet portable DA/Air thing lol.
my slips:
1)
60': 9.2904 (yes, you are reading that right. i supposedly red lighted (which i didn't) and sat there cursing)
1/8 MPH: 84.38 mph
ET: 20.4462 (lol)
1/4MPH: 107.45mph
2) this run, i hit 178 IATs in third. Launched it with IATs at 130 and coolant at 200. I knew this would be a bad run before I ran it.
60': 2.1244
1/8 MPH: 84.36 mph
ET: 13.2191
1/4MPH: 107.17
3) 1mph difference here with 20 degree cooler IATs in 3rd. goes to show how important it is to keep temps down
60': 2.1249
1/8 MPH: 85.60 mph
ET: 13.0589
1/4MPH: 108.04 mph
4) less than five minutes after run 3
60': 2.1046
1/8 MPH: 86.41
ET: 12.9383
1/4MPH: 109.04
I'll take it.
all runs done on Michelin Sport PS2, 25 psi
obviously had traction issues as seen in the video. i did my best to roll through first and didn't got full WOT until the very top of first. i need to borrow Hooleys or Evan's slicks next time.
i think another run or two i could have trapped 110. I have noticed that when I reset the transmission shift points with the "sneaky ecu reset" my car has gotten faster after each run at the track. i'm gonna reset earlier next time so it is always quick-ish.
oh, and i think my intake filters are clogged with dirt. havent cleaned those out in a while (excuse? maybe lol). i think i'll see a difference next time once i clean that crap out. they're nasty.

Yeah I dont think you did it. If you rolled it it would have deep staged you before it red lighted. I would throw the red challenge flag on that play.

Holy crap Josh, those IATs are redonc! I assume those are off the Dashdyno? Highest I've seen on mine was 130s! Cool that thing down, get some traction, and you should run low 12s all day.
Good runs though and congrats to both of you! I especially enjoyed the 20 sec run...."now that's a record"...lmao Good stuff.

Big thanks to Evan (cuzinquick) If any of you get a chance to race with him he will make you faster. He has all sorts of tips and tricks that can help you beat or meat your goal. now I know thanks to Evan, I need better than 2500ft DA to run faster than 11.7. For any racer thats good stuff to know. Now all I need is a better camera that can focus well.
EDIT: after a slightly disappointing 11.94 at 114mph the DA was 3000ft. after a 500ft drop in DA. i picked up 2/10ths and 6mph. can wait to run at 1800ft!

Yeah, the DA in AZ sucks. I had a taste of that high DA earlier this year at Fontana when it was 105 degrees with DA close to 5000. Good luck and I hope the weather cools off for you soon.

And now you know why I need to split my coolant system lol. My IATs are still ridonculous out here lol.
Yah the 20 second run was bs. i know they messed up on it and Hooley and my other buddy agreed. Whatever. I'm proud of that burn out lol.
and i'm gonna clean my filters next time. they were robbing me of power, i'm pretty sure.

Dang I'm way late to this party. You both are very welcome. Josh next time we'll definitely put the DR's on your car. Congrats to you both on new personal best. I know when I was fighting to break 13.20's I was hella happy just to get there.
Friday night was a tune up for Saturdays action. Yea Josh I lost in the final and broke out on that dude. I whooped that 11 sec camaro but ran too fast. I should have been on the brakes, just haven't learned to race with both feet yet.
Today my class had the most cars, and lost in the semi's. Hooley your going to freak on this. You thought losing on friday night was tough by breaking out by .02 (two thousandths of a second). Today I lost in the semi's by breaking out and running under my dial of 12.31 with an ET of 12.3097 that is -.0003 ( 3 ten thousandths of a second). How the heck do the lights even break it down that far. I want to throw out the challenge flag. That was my championship. Overall some good fun racing. Everytime out the six and the AMG motor gets lots of respect.
Thanks for all the compliments, but I wasn't driving. You guys were. Congrats.
P.S. Bassn_07 the 2010 Summit ET Finals is at Sacramento Raceway . If I'm still bracket racing the six next year, you can be sure I'll be there.

5k!? Ouch! This time of year down here in southern MS, we're usually 1500-2k on average. Humidity and crappy track prep are the worst enemy here.
