Did some 2006 C55's have Posi traction Rears
I had my stock wheels refinished and when reinstalling the rears, I noticed the wheels did not turn when one wheel was on the ground while I tightened the other that was off the ground.
Sounds and acts like a posi to me..

Has no one else ever noticed "Yes or No" the same thing on their C55.?

It's because you most likely had the transmission in Park. Nothing is going to turn in that case.
The best test for a LSD is to jack the rear end up and turn one wheel. If the other turns the opposite direction you have an open differential and if it turns the same direction you have an LSD.

AMG Manufaktur (now known as Performance Studio) had a Performance Package available for the C55 in the German market which was very similar to the Performance Package availabe in N. America for the current C63. It came with a locking differential (along with "Nurburgring" tuned suspension, upgraded bakes, 19" rims, etc, etc).
No North American C55 came with locking differential from the factory.

I'll try jacking both wheels off the ground and seeing which way they turn when turning one by hand.
Has anyone here installed a Posi Traction unit in their C55 and if so, are there any positive or negative differences to share and/or report.

Supposedly it doesn't, but I agree with you that it doesn't act like an open diff. Up in the air I can spin one wheel and the other one will spin the same direction, but if it were limited slip with the trans in park it could not do that. If I turn traction control off and gun it both wheels will spin, but open diffs usually only spin one wheel from what I've seen.
