I'm trying to verify wether the C55 does or does not have a transmission dipstick tube. My searching hasn't helped, I only found a few threads about the C32. I know the 5 speed in the non AMG cars has a tube, but I don't see one in the engine bay of my car nor could I find one coming out of the transmission when I had it up in the air. If there's no tube, then this transmission must have the same fill procedure as the 7G, correct? Meaning it can only be done by the dealer?

the tube should be in the rear of the engine bay. it has a cap on it with a black tab. the way to measure fluids is to buy the dipstick tool from ebay (20$ or so) and break the black locking tab. the tool goes in until you feel it touch bottom and is read from the bottom. it will stick out quite a ways. remove the tool then get a removable red locking tab from the dealer (2$) and replace the cap after adding fluid if needed.

I just checked again with a flash light, and I'm almost 100% certain this car does not have a transmission dipstick tube. Only the engine oil tube with a red cap on it.

the oil filler cap is on the front right side of your engine. the trans dipstick tube is located in the rear left side of the engine

if this is the pic of your engine you can see the top of the trans tube in the very left reear of the engine with a red cap

pretty sure the one with the red cap is the engine oil dipstick tube

cmon guys your making this to hard! look at the back of the engine for the tranny dipstick tube

It is the pic of a C55 engine and the red cap all the way back on the passenger side is the engine oil dipstick tube, not transmission.

i stand corrected then. i was under the impression you had the same transmission as the 3.2 a 722.6 trans. in that foto that is were my trans tube is
