Brand New C63 or 2005 SL65?
Struggling to decide which way I should go? Actually I meant 2006 SL65 since they are about the same price as a new C63...
What would you do? Is there another thread on this topic?

I was thinking of boring out my spare 5.4 block to 6.0 and having Gary who is a leading turbo guy here in So.Cal iron sleeve it and then put two massive turbos on it. This block can withstand 800-900 lbs of torque.
But...if I pick up an old 2006 SL65 or 2008 CLK BS, I might not want to spend the money to build up this spare motor.
I had several MB engine builders look at my block and they all said the scored cylinders are VERY mild. I should just post some picks of the cylinders for all to see here. I'll start a separate thread with the pics.

SL65's are great and if you've got the money for the upkeep I'd definitely go that way. I've read some posts on these forums though indicating they [used ones] aren't quite the bargain they appear to be. The example given was the cost of brake rotor replacement and it was just stupidly expensive.
I still want one though.

and if anyone doubts that, see here ----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVw2kem__p0
on a side note, there is something to be said for four doors if you actually need to use the car. and from what ive read, the SL65 is definitely not inexpensive to maintain.

After hearing about the maintenance and possible repair costs when the warranty expires, I'm starting to consider an 08 CLK BS.
I don't want to pay a penny over $65K so if I have to wait unitl 2009 I will.
I'm leaving in a few minutes to look at a white 2006 SL65 but it has 48.5K miles on it at a dealership. White ones are rare so I just gotta see this one even though I'm not desperate to buy it.
And your right...Only consider 2 seaters if you already have 4 door(s) at home or it's just not practicial at all.
