I hve just had suspension overhaul
new wheel bearing all round'
new strut bearings all round
new bushings all round
Bilstein B8 shocks
...couldn't be much happier
was very close to installing H&R adj coilovers but changed my mind at the last minute
the car now rides like a dream...you would not regret going Bilstein![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

hhmm...thanks guys! Bilstein it is...but is there somewhere better where i can get the bilstein shocks at a better price than the ones compared to tire rack? so far tirerack is my only reference for the shocks/struts....and those fronts are damn expensive!
im lookin at the sport shokcs/struts, the rears are $88, while the fronts are $230!? dang!
oh, im also considering putting lowering springs as well H&R's with #4 pad on the rear...will they be compatible with the bilstein?

Hhmm...what do u guys think? Ofne of the memebers are selling me a slightly used C32 stock shocks and springs..came off his car at 40,000K
I'm wondering I should snag these and experiment with the extra front springs I have and cut a full coil or two for the fronts and see if thatll make a difference on how the front end of the C32s sit..

mind you, tire rack is a little bit cheaper, however, the ebay guy offered cheaper shipping to australia, so it ended up ebay being cheaper for me
personally, i'm totally against cutting springs...the last spring cutting i did was on my honda years ago

I was watching them did it all in under 2 hours
The new bearings need special tool to extract out of the wheel hub
The spring needs spring compressor to safely remove it
The bushing need special tool to extract from the strut arms
I was thinking DIY as well but too much hassle, better leave it to the experts

the wheels were wobbling on its axles
![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
the bushings...upon visual inspection were all cracked and falling apart...unevenly worn tyres are also tell tell signs of bad bushing
the strut bearings have plays (wobble) in them...indicating wear
To top it all off, all tyres replaced with michelin pilots and laser guided wheel alignment as icing on the cake
The diffrence was day and night

My tech place my car on suspension dyno to check the bound/rebound characteristic of each shock of each wheels... they were all over the place and inconsistent...a brand new car would have bound/rebound consistent on all four corners...this indicates tired shock absorbers...

See you’re a member of the failed bush club. No damper upgrade will substantively improve your chassis until they’re renewed.
MB’s latest iteration for their jelly-filled torque arm bushing is 211 333 11 14.
Might as well do the cross arms while you’re under there…203 333 09 14.
Thoroughly inspect your inner & outer tie-rod ends and anti-roll bar links, too, as they’re also likely soon destined for the recycling bin.
