this is the part number i used: 2042670046 it seem to be the cheapest set of padles when I looked around at the parts department depending on which ones you want you just have to change the first 3 numbers to whatever chassi you want the paddles from. ironicaly the ones on the s63 are more expansive than those on the clk63 BS

the guy that did the original install is supposed to be building a kit to do this. you may want to wait a bit. also the removal of the airbag is described on here

oh so the one you bought are from C63 correct ? is there any link I can order online with that part# or have to be at the dealer?

edit: I found this thread on CLS forum too but it seems like this one is easier because the car already have the paddle (not AMG one) but the button so basically the connectors just plug and play.

Thanks,

Andy

I changed the first three number to 2302670046 and the price is only $131.25 not sure the parts is belong to 08/09 SL550 or SL55 . Does anyone know ? is it all the AMG paddleshifter (not the buttons) are the same ? im talking about C63, CLK63 etc...

edit : its even cheaper if you get the one from SLK55 AMG(part # 1712670046 $99.00 )

when i was lookin at the pictures and parts at the dealership, some chasis with the same ending part number only registered one side of the padle as in left or right side. i think the 171 chasi was not selling in pairs the only one that I was sure sold in pair was 2042670046 and it crossed referenced with the padles on the GLK aswell. in short some chasis if you order they dont come as a pair so be carefull.

I was looking at the BMW DIY posted on here and it looks pretty simple, just splicing into the two wires that control the up and down. Anyone have any in depth pictures on the wiring going to the shifter? My cars still getting fixed so I can't take apart the center console an check. If there isn't to many wires I might just splice into each wire until the paddles work... lol

ok i was looking at the schematic on WIS and it looks like there should be 3 wires that goes to the shift lever pressure sensor (1 ) signal wire (2) 5volt power wire (3) gound/negative . the signal wire should be the pink wire, the power wire should be brown with a yelow stripe if i remember it right. and the other one is groud of course. at first i thought they had to be 2 power wires that just needed to be connected to a ground at contact which whould be relatively easy, then i saw the the 1 signal wire in the schematic which means IMO the shift up and shift down signal both go through the same wire. ( that would expain the black box on one of the pictures posted on the first page) again IMO to make it work you would have to connect both the cable from the up shift padle and down shift padle to the pink wire and pray that it give out different signals to shift up or down . at the moment im out town i dont have WIS nor my car with me so keep us updated if you find anything and i will do the same. when i get back in town. I hope this was helpful.
