P0401 = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected (Not sure what the issue would be here as you have changed the EGR valve)
P0299 = Turbo/Super Charger Underboost (This fault is for a boost leak somewhere in the system Make sure you check all your hoses and pipes for your turbo system . Any holes in hoses or breaks will cause a flat spot also remove the hose going to the turbo and make sure there is no severe oil you may have a issue with the turbo seals themselves. The turbo could be going bad as well)
The symptoms you are describing are usually associated with the P0299 code.
Once the check engine light comes on, there's a major fault stored (represented with a capital "F" when scanned).
If the C/E light is on and you're in Limp Mode, a basic scanner most likely cannot clear condition, even after problem is rectified, but in this case, if it is a faulty tranny comp, it's trouble....from what I hear, MB isn't allowing tranny comp swaps by independent shops anymore, but I'm not sure. I hope it isn't cuz it means you HAVE to go to dealer and that means $$.
Don't go exactly by what I say, you have to get to a real scanner / DAS to be sure.

See Pic: I'll assume you know where the reservoir is bc you say it's fine. In the picture, the red arrow points to the sensor. If you have a leveler that is stuck, you could try tapping gently on the two spots marked with red "X" to see if it can get unstuck. Don't use regular hammer as it can break plastic; use a rubber mallet or maybe a screwdriver wrapped in a small towel. Check to see that sensore wire (blue arrow) is seated firmly, or remove it and check the contacts. Clean them with contact cleaner or alcohol, and reseat properly. You could als remove sensor to see it it is clogged or stuck. Rinse with distilled water. Or just replace the whole thing:

Thank You in Advance
Any solutions to this code? I believe this is the code I have on my car, I don't notice anything power wise. But as for my mpg, they have gone from around 23 city to 14-15.
Any help would be appreciated
I'm worried it may also be the bad ground syndrome of the 08-09 C-class cars. The right bulb is OK so I may pull the trunk lid liner out to follow the wire leads there for good continuity.
Anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks all.....
