Figure I'd chime in,

There's reason they are so cheap, their quality is poor and they are undoubtedly 18-gauge which is super thin and prone to cracking (or even worse, you can literally blow a hole in them as i've seen on many OBX-style headers before). Also 18-gauge headers sound like crap (for anyone whose had them knows). Furthermore, the exit flanges on them are totally wrong, they need to have some sort of curvature to have proper seal with the stock downpipes otherwise they will leak.

Also, the W208 headers are very tricky, if you don't get the curvature just right on the actual piping itself it will literally hit the block and rattle which it looks like they did not do. If you simply follow the stock ones as a template the headers will not fit properly (as our early prototype testing proved). I bet you those will hit the block and rattle like crazy (especially when going in reverse), but then again what do you expect for low quality dirt cheap headers.

I also bet the primaries are 1.5" which is what most of those cheap headers use, which will do you no good as the stock ones are almost the same size. Without a larger primary you won't really make any more power over stock (especially on a log manifold, that's where majority of the gains come from is in the primary design etc). Also, on an NA motor the enlarged downtube log manifolds kill low end torque in order to move power up band and give a tiny bit more top end so that's yet another downside to that design (which is why AMS dropped that design it the early prototype phase and went with consistent diameter throughout).

Buyer Beware

the only reason to go for shorties would be for the ability to get better flow for a full custom exhaust on the SRT. Like I said, I would only go with LT headers if it was possible and would only go with a trusted performance shop, definitely would steer clear of OBX headers...and almost any ebay headers, unless they were from someone I trusted, well maybe not even then.

My mechanic charges $340 for headers install on a C32. Others charge even more. Why would you take a chance like that? Even if you do it yourself, it's still may be a lot of waisted time and money. Go with the Eurocharged headers.
