Track Day w/ C55 (Vid inside)
Well I got the opportunity to go out to the track yesterday with a local car group. This was my first chance to take the C55 out onto a road course so I was pretty excited about it. ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
We ended up having a really good group of guys/gals with some really nice euro cars (e36 m3 race car, stripped/caged e46 m3, tuned mini cooper s, cammed mk4 R32, mk5 R32, big turbo mk4 GTI and a track prepped 16vturbo mk2 jetta) as well as two professional photographers. I was also able to borrow a friends suction camera mount and pin camera to take some vids from the outside of the car.
The track conditions were about as perfect as they could have been for us. It was 60s and sunny all day and we had a small group so we got as much time as we liked (or our cars could stand). I only did three sessions as my brakes were fading pretty bad and I was doing wonders for one of my rear tires. All in all it was a good day. Hopefully I will have some really nice footage from our camera guys but Im sure it will take them some time to go through all of the pics from the day. In the mean time I put together a short vid to hold you over till I get the pics.

i am insanely jealous of your 100 dollar-traffic-free-track runs. Cheapest here is about 350 bucks or so
btw just noticed all 3 of us have black/black c55's

Yup its all wind noise unfortunately. Everyone at the track was telling me how great it sounded wide open on the straights though. They were taking pics and vids from the infield as well so I might end up with some more clips. This was the only footage I got.

Excellent video. Interesting to see the ‘wagon wheel’ illusion from that perspective.
Telling just how much our suspension moves when dynamic loads and its resultant weight transfer are given free reign.
Seems its tail got a bit happy on exit. Sometimes too much torque is just right.

Interesting perspective from your video. Maybe I'll try that camera mount position this track season.
And great pictures too. Always good to see another C-AMG owner enjoy their car on the track, where you really push the car (and yourself) to the limits.

Not like the other guy who posted pics recently. I didnt do but a few sessions and didnt abuse them too much. They did have a slight hint of gold color from the heat but if I would have run them a couple more sessions Im sure they would have turned completely gold.

The most important questions of all...
How'd you do against E46 M3? TGPR is a tight small track if I remember correctly.. Since you are in ATL, you should try to sign up for seat time @ roebling

Well my car and the E46 M3 were in different sessions and I did not get a chance to compare lap times. Although on the way down we did have a little fun on the HWY, I slowly pulled on him @ 60+. His motor is stock but he has loads of weight reduction, its gutted with a carbon fiber roof.
