Maybe you should just sell the damn thing as is and try to get close to your $12k back..........................$24k will buy a lot of reliable fast great condition cars. If you dump $24k into a 100k mile C32 you will still have a $12k car.

If you dont care about a/c, heat, comfort and safety then you got the wrong car. The AMGs are fast but they are also safe and comfortable thats why they weigh in at 3500+ lbs.

Buy a beater Nissan 240sx and put a RB26dett motor in it. You will easily have 500+hp in a car that weighs as much as a roller skate for about $10-15K if you do it right. You will have to reach over and roll down the passenger window manually on hot days and God help you if you ever crash the thing.

lol, I'm a gambler, I took a gamble on the the car and now I'm gambling that this AMG engine will last another 150k miles even when abused.

As far as choosing a different car, I'm in love with the exterior as much as I am with the interior and everything under the hood. If I can find affordable 19" Carlsson's in chrome and a box of H&R lowering spring, this car will be as hot today, as it would have been when it first came out and how it will be 10 years from now. That's what happens in a 10, 20, 30 year economic lull, your car stays hot if it's hot to begin with.

ive had my c32 for 6 monthes now and i absolutly love it, it has 84k miles on it today. as far as taking the a/c out.... well im in south west florida so this would be a suicide move but it your in NY then go for it. as far as power goes ehh i dont think i would see any gains. as someone stated above the a/c may cut out when full power is applied. from a quickness stand point im bone stock and beat a lighly modded 2006 350z by 3-4 cars. the engine has given me no trouble (was owned by two elderly couples) just always i mean ALWAYS get it serviced on time. saved me a lot of head ache. the engines last a long time. i dont think they loose hp over high mileage either.
bottom line I LOVE MY C32 lol

All engines eventually start to loose HP at higher mileage due to loss of compression within the cylinders. No I don't recommend "Restore" to restore compression... I swear my engine has never been the same since I added that crap. It felt so much smoother after the next oil change!

I'm sure it will, but don't expect it to go that far without a lot of maintenance down the road. Especially after raising the HP so much with engine modifications...

Guys... the OP didn't once state "400 wheel HP" and yet seemingly is getting jumped all over about it. IMHO, when people don't specifically state "wheel," they're probably talking brake horsepower, as a comparison to the engine's factory-rated output.

As we all know, 400 bhp in a C32 is entirely "doable," given it'd amount to ~330 whp, and pulley/tune/intake/headers on an M112K should suffice.

I don't like coming on the boards and start bashing people, but come on man you are wanting 400hp, and you have a slipping transmission, I see bad expensive things in your future!

A mercedes with NO heat or AC? NO heat in upstate NY? IDK man, I dont think I could live like that. I understand your plight, but its still a street car, not a race car. I would DEF leave the heat as well as the AC. But if you absolutely have to, then remove the AC only

It's just something I'm pondering. In addition to the major weight loss and potential relief of the engine from having to power a major component, there is what I believe to be a huge component that many are missing and that is the effect of removing an AC condenser from the front of the car. The AC Condenser is a huge impairement on the function of the vehicle's radiator. In addition to it fully blocking it from fresh cold air, the AC condenser adversly effects the heat dissipation meant to take place and promoted heat soak. So yeah, I actually do have a strong case for doing this. I don't know if I ever will. The OBX headers on the other hand are in the mail.

you would get greater cooling benefits if you just upgraded to a larger heat exchanger. The stock radiator system is fine for cooling the engine. Its the high IAT's that needs help.

Why don't you just let him try it especially when he is willing to try it and let us know the outcome if you don't want to try it?

I would appreciate very much whoever tries it and lets me know the result.
i dont have to see the product to know mild steel headers are junk. thats why they are 300$.
there are so many experienced wrenches on here that have done the research and thats why stainless steel headers are the ones to have.
the op is buying these headers for 300$ and then spending another 300$ to ceramic coat them. thats 600$ for a set of untested headers when eurocharged has stainless steel headers for 800$.
that tells me the op hasnt done the research. saw something cheap and thought it would be new and exciting to post on here. seen it before. 400 rwhp? not likely!

Ok, I'll clear some things up:

-The Eurocharged headers are 800 per piece, 1600+Shipping total.

-The OBX headers were 300 total, and are also stainelss steel.

Here is what is at the center of the "cheap foreign vs expensive domestic" header arguement: Quality. As we know, products made in China are dirt cheap, but sometimes quality is sacrificed. The goal of my project is to test the quality of this product, after I've added value and protection to it in the form of a ceramic coat.

its $800 for ec shorty headers. Headers as in plural, so its $800 for two ec headers.

so it would be $800 vs $300.

if the pic of the headers is accurate your going to have some major issues fitting them into place. look at the e/c headers. these barely fit on the drivers side.
what are the diameter of the tubes? same as stock or bigger?
just my opinion but theres better ways to spend your money to make power than this experiment

A Closer look at the supposed OBX Headers

Here are some pictures of the so called "C-32 AMG" Headers from OBX. With the exception of a "sharp" turn in one of the pipes, they look fine. They are made of stainless steel and based on the reviews of others, are likely to fall apart in about a year. I wont know until I try them. Apparently there is a lifetime warranty on them, but I could see that being problematic being Chinese products and all. I don't have the money to do my exhaust system yet, I'm still redoing the suspension $$$, but I will document my experience with these things.

OMG! Never seen so many butt weld joints in an exhaust header.
Specially at the apex of that one turn. Yikes. My old 1987 190e exhaust headers that were cast was a known MB design process flaw and it had pinholes, developed into mild cracks due to heat and eventually got worse. Point is, this was an OEM cast part and still withstood over 150K miles when it had to be replaced. The only weldments were at the flanges.
But this stainless steel header has weldments all over. They could have done a better tube bend design or pattern.
Just my 2 cents. Hope it works.

I thought that too, from the pictures that you and/or Vadim posted. Except these (at least, at a glance) look to have sharper bends and more sections/welds, from what I remember. Otherwise, very similar.
