changing spark plugs and wires

Spark plugs are good until around 100k miles, or at least the NGK's, but I suggest changing 80-90k. Not exactly sure on the Bosch, but if they are the original plugs, being you own a 2002, they should be NGK. The wires there is no estimate on mileage, but a lot of us have switched to the Magnecor KV-85 performance wires.

I've been thinking about switching back to OE plugs to see if it solves my rough idle issue... What experience did you have with Magnecor? Please go into detail about what happened. Thanks!

Is there an aftermarket alternative that is better than OEM? I don't have misfires to the point of CEL, but how the engine idles it does feel as it's occasionally missing...

i would check your wires again. The misfires are caused when the wire slowly starts to slip out, since the wire is slightly larger then oem. Some members have crimped the end to make it fit better.

I had my spark plugs changed at 57K miles and there isn't too much of a difference. They could probably go to 75-80K miles, no problem. Used OEM plug wires.

I've got the opposite luck of everybody else - a bunch of my OEM wires failed around 65K and since replacing them with Mags (30K miles on them almost), I've only had one "loose wire" issue that I was able to fix by hand in a dark parking lot.
As per the rough idle, there's definitely a slight difference from OEM, but to anybody who notices I just pull the usual "It's a performance thing..." excuse

I just changed my plugs at 100,000 miles. The old plugs looked fine, which is shocking as they were stock and I drive it like I stole it! The Plug wires were all still 100% perfect so all I did to those was some dielectric grease inside the boots and reused them.
Did not notice an ounce of benefit from changing the plugs, so I have to give kudos to MB for using a good quality plug to begin with.
My next job will be to send the fuel injectors out for balancing/cleaning

by the way if you do the work yourself it does help if you while you are trying to pull the wires, you keep them straight because they are A PITA other wise it took me an hour to get the sires off the first time and about 20 mins after i fould out the right way to pull them out
