Hello Peeps!
Ok so I have a leaky intercooler... Luckily I still have one of those off shelves warranty covered by Western General and so off I go to my nearest MB shop here in Plano TX. Warranty folks has approved the repair and will cover all parts + 6.3hrs worth of labor - I was like AwEsOmE! Few moments later, service advisor rang - oh sir, total labor for your AMG built C32 will take 12 hrs of labor to replace your Air Charge Cooler (term used for Intercooler), remaining labor charge will have to come out of your pocket.. hmmm 5.8 x 120/hr = $696!!! Maintained my composure but deep inside me I want to knock the living daylights of my service advisor. I was just like, I am only asking you to replace my leaky Intercooler not the entire Engine!
So all you gurus out there.. help a brotha out. Already called my trusty warranty folks and informed me they have actually given more than enough labor time required for the type of repair on a C32 AMG and it based on a nationally recognized labor guide (Mitchell onDemand).
Sorry for the rant but what do you guys suggest..
Thank ya'll

we charge 6 hours to do it including fluid flush, car inspection, star testing etc. You need to remove the supercharger completely to get to the intercooler. 12 hours is extremely high
