Now I'm mildly irritated.
So, I've repeatedly asked that we have a friendly discussion about it. He keeps putting me off. Says he doesn't want to embarrass me. I recently acquired some headers off the forums, and now I need a retune.
My original tune was through Powerchip, which he conveniently now works at as of 5 months ago. Should I go back to Powerchip and have them dyno tune, or should I go elsewhere?
Its Getrag gearbox shames MB’s transmissions. Their purposeful tinwork continues to remain attractive.
A mildly tweaked C32 can easily pull ‘em – until the twisty bits.

..........a little while back you claimed to have won against an M6 from 80 - 120 mph. I used to own an E39 M5 when it first came out.........not even close to an E63 M6, that's for sure
it has a lot done to ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fiSylwFtko

He says that if I can beat his M5, then I can race his Lotus, which from what I've heard is stock. Words are words though. No one really know what he's done to his car, so it's anyone's game. Keep in mind too that the M5 is 500 lbs heavier than the C32.
And I *barely* beat that M6. :p I guess we'll find out soon enough...hopefully. I have a feeling the race will be won or lost off the launch.
If I lose, it's ok. I'm still proud of my girl based on how much I've spent on her.

@Temjin: That's no good. My best friend applied there for a job a little while back. He's a shoe in once they have the space, but he's very respectable and modest. That's not a comforting notion though if the new help is being a jack. I sure hope it isn't the M5 owner.

i dont really understand the lotus comment. what kind of lotus is it? if it is a stock espirt, exige, elise......those things are hella slow. i raced my buddy's lotus elise with an exhaust and it wasn't even close. the M5 has more bawls then that.

ah...thank you for piping in. much more (considerably) respectable numbers then. out of curiosity, what mods do you have on the M5? intake, full exhaust, tune, pulley.....?
and regarding the lotus.....i figured it had to be an esprit and not stock IF you offered to give him a run if he beat the M5...... the esprit (with the tt V8)is one of my favorite cars and am well aware of their capabilities and potential modifications for them. they're one of my favorite cars!

The Esprit has $200 worth in hardware (took the cats off) and of course a minor tweak to the tune

haha.....how much boost are you running on the esprit? boost controller? stock dp, intake, and everything except for deleted cats? i mean....those GT3 RSs arent exactly slouches lol.

Don't know to be honest with you, will hook up a boost gauge at some point and take a look. I don't drive it much, it's got about 10k miles on it (bought it with 3k) and I feel like a criminal for driving it as much as I do. The GT3RS had about the same power to weight ratio as the esprit, those guys couldn't believe I pulled on them because it weighed around 2800lbs and had headers. My Esprit is quick but by no means a monster, it will be when I slap some bigger turbos on it though

Don't know who you talked to but a reflash is $190 unless you want a custom dyno tune. PM me and let me know what you need and though I'm sure it's a mis-communication, whoever treated you poorly will be reprimanded.
I assume this is public knowledge since who ever answered the phone told me this when i asked for travis and jeremy. Basically the guy told me that travis and jeremy got fired for pocketed the money from there tunes.
He wanted $499 for a retune when i'm already was a customer and i paid $300 to the initial tune and travis told me last yr that the retune would be $150.
He originally wanted $600 for the retune and I asked why the price doubled. He said thats the only way power chip can stay in business. Considering the mail in tune is from vadim car from 3yrs ago and tunes are pretty much 99.9% profit...his reasons didn't really make sense.
He fed me some other bs, eventually I just got annoyed and agitated.
I met jeremy and travis in real life at powerchip and they seem like good people. I don't know if the other stuff is true, but at least talking to them didn't want to make me throw something at the person on the other end of the phone.
Honestly, it soured me on the brand.
Not my intent to be an ***. Perhaps there were other extenuating circumstances you’ve not yet shared.
