Yes Sir, I am aware of San Francisco and Berkeley. Most of those people there are to the left of Lenin. MOST... not all.

I was referring more to places such as Redding and north. East Cali isn't bad either, most of the farmers there still have an ounce of common sense.

I just kind of go about my own business and dont mind others...
I seem to get by just fine doing so, no matter where i've lived.

There are going to be people that suck no matter where you live, who have different beliefs and views, but thats what makes them interesting.

No more hating in my thread!!! More helping, hahaha.
Someone fly to Northern Michigan and help me fix this damn short!

Im not sure if PO Nick (aho) had any issues like this with the car or not when he washed it?

Changing the oil and fixing the headlight tomorrow.
Then I got the brake pads, and have to fix this short.

Got a PM suggesting having LET retune the ecu, but I dont know if that would just be a waste of money or not?

wait till you have a 185 pulley before you tune. Because you'll need to retune with every mod you add.

No never had any electrical issues with the car. Did you put the windshield stripping back on when it was raining or during your wash??

Take it easy, this car is like any other car. You are correct, the oil is mobil 1 0w40 and if you have an oriley's close to you, you should be able to find it on sale. The oil change is very simple and it will take care of your service A and B. You will need to take off both under panels of the car and use the drain plug to drain the oil. If you are in a rush to get the oil filter, just visit your local mb dealer and get the filter from them. You can find them on ebay for a great deal or you can get them from needswings.com. Also don't forget to pick up a crush washer for the drain plug.

As for the weather stripping, take a look at this pic:

You'll notice that the engine bay is almost symmetrical. To your left and right you will see rubber weather stripping separating a small section of the engine compartment from the engine. There is also weather stripping running right below the windshield on the back part of the engine compartment. The weather stripping is just pressed into place.

If you notice on the right side of the pic, driver side, there's a black box. That black box is the fuse box. There is also another fuse box inside of the car on the side of the dash on the driver side when you open the door. There is also another fuse area in the trunk of the car on the driver's side. It is covered by a rectangular section of carpet that is held in to place by Velcro.

As for the headlight, it's relatively simple fix. Check out these threads to better understand the process. Remember, most every thing that has happened to you has happened to some one else. So search the forum. The non amg section for the w203 is also a great resource on this forum.

Here is a step by step instruction guide to removing the lens off of the headlight : https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...y-guide-3.html

Basically service A and B are what MB uses as a reminder that your car is in need of an oil change. The difference between A and B is that in service B the whole car is checked for problems. They do a multipoint inspection and then tell you what needs to be done on top of having an oil change. Service B is much more expensive, but all it is is a thorough inspection with a regular service. I do my own service A's and B's and it cost me the price of oil and a filter.

Resetting the service indicator is easy as well. Once you have done the service put the key in position 3 and then go to the service page in the odometer menu. Once you are there push in and hold the reset stick/button until you get a screen that pops up that asks you if you want to reset the service and just confirm it. I may be a bit off, but you can find the way to do it on the forum with a basic search.

If you need answers more quickly feel free to private message me and I will try to respond more quickly.

Just ordered a Mann fleece filter and crush washers from needswings today, Just gotta get some oil and I should be good to go on the oil change.
Got a bachelor party tomorrow, so all of this has been postponed due to the last minute addition to the party (costing more $)..

So ill get the oil done Sunday or Monday, and hopefully be motivated enough to knock out that damn headlight.
Also thinking about just buying my own obdII reader.. anyone know of a good one in particular that is reasonably priced? The guy @ advance auto said they had a 50% off special on theres for $90..

Crush washers...? For what? The oil drain plug?

Get yourself an oil extractor and be one of the cool kids on the block. No need to crawl under the car.

Besides, I don't know about your model, but on mine, draining the oil through the drain plugs only drains about 60% of the oil due to the configuration of the pan. An oil extractor will get most all of the oil out of the pan.

I've been doing my oil change like that since I've gotten my car. I get about 7+ courts when I drain my oil through the drain plug. I know how much because I put the oil back into each empty oil quart that I have used in order to recycle it.

I have always heard that the extractor is not as efficient removing oil as the drain plug, but I have had success doing it through the drain plug. Plus it's better to crawl under the car in order to see if you have any leaks as opposed to just pumping out the oil from above. Better to do a bit of work as opposed to having to deal with a serious problem later.

I agree with the crawling under the car thing.

But damn it, I have access to a lift and as such, I refuse to crawl under any car. hah!

No reason to envy me. It's not my lift. Though, I have been thinking of getting one installed at the shop. Hell, they're only 3-6 grand, depending on options.

Then you can envy me.

As do I haha. My uncle has a lift, I suppose I could ask to use it!

Im just gonna go the old school way and drain it from underneath, its always worked for me, no use in spending more money on something I dont need.

This seriously is by far the most helpful forum ive ever dealt with.

i vote for the extractor as well. With the filter in the front of the engine, there's no real reason to get under the car.

In the trunk under the spare tire.

Come now, have you read the owner's manual yet? I don't mean to sound negative or mean, but I bet you won't "wear out" your welcome on the forums as it were, when you REALLY have a problem with the car if you do some of your own "legwork" and find out where the small things are.
