Exhaust work in NW Chicagoland area?
So I finally decided to remove second cats+resonator based on sound clips...but my friend's shop said it would take a few days before I would get my car back??? From what I gathered it's a pretty quick job right? I just don't have time to have my car out for a couple of days...does anyone have suggestions for a reputable place to do this around the northwest suburbs of Chicago? And it shouldn't cost anymore than $100 right?
Also, I know this is a stupid question...but that first place I tried also insisted that the cats to remove are in front because they are the "warm up" catalytic converters. TBH, I have no idea and wanted to know which set of cats to remove?
Thanks in advance.

You want to remove the rear cats. The one's right in front of the resonator. Here's a pic I snagged off of quicktwinturbo's thread. You can see the secondary cats and the stainless piece is where his resonator used to be.

You want to get this done at a reputable exhaust shop with proper materials..
It should cost more than 100 since you are going to need to 3 pipes. I spent about $80 to do my resonator back in 06 or 07.. Expect $160-200 +
P.s: I'm finally coming to IL for grad school this month. Look forward to meet’n local AMG owners soon
