What's the trick with opening windows on a hot day from the key fob?

Can't find my book and forgot how to do this with the remote.

'03 C32, '08 ML63
There's a little square patch on or around the door handle. You point your key fob at it and hold down the unlock button. Similarly holding lock will make them go up.

For me it doesn't work on my drivers side, only the passengers, and you have to point it dead on the patch basically right on it. Wish they would've used the radio part to do it like they do unlocking the car instead of the infrared emitter.

Cool. Thanks. I knew I did this once but ever since couldn't figure out the trick. That would explain how it worked the first time.

You have to be in the shade.

I remember reading that the sun can interfere with the infrared sensors and they will not respond well. You can always try it out at night to see if this theory is true or you may just have a bad sensor.
