air fuel ratio (AFR) tune

Hi to you all

ok this is going to sound stupid and i know, if you had a way to tune ur car personally, or had a dedicated tuner that will do a custom tune for your car on a load based Dyno say for example (Dyno log-Dyno dynamics) what would be the desired AFR target for a 4th gear all through the rev band , to make the most power and also be reliable as a daily driver on an N/A C55 ??

here's the link to my dyno thread. My dyno was on a dyno dyanmics which was 338whp. To give you an idea, a e92 m3 dynos about 315whp on that dyno.

It should be around 371whp on a dynojet. I started out at 300whp with my crappy tony tune and jeremy at oe tuning as able to fix my tune.

The other dynos are on the first page.

Was it measured at the tail pipe or closer to the engine?

tail pipe, so it's running slightly richer then what the graph shows. I believe the cat leans it out by .5.

I hear that that is the case but why? 4th will give you a 1:1 ratio.

those are some bad *** numbers bravo , i can see that ur tune is targeting the 12 or 12,5 due to ur car being supercharged although in my point of view and as a rule of thumb it is a bet on the lean side for for an F/I car , as far as i know and i personaly tune my own twin turbo vette and i target about 11,5 to 11,8.
but that dose not aply to my car being N/A it should run difrent , but haw much difrent dose the AMG motors like to be to preduce the most power ????????????

its better to dyno in a 1:1 gear ratio to reduce the effects of the transmission and to check for any leaness. But the power difference between 3rd and 4th gear seems to be small.

Its best to tune for a large load so tuning at higher speeds tends to put the most load on the engine. You'll probably never drive up to 150mph but its nice to know you can go without running lean.

my dynos were done in 4th gear.

the amg motors can take a lot before they blow. I was running afr of 15's when i had the ec mail in tune for 6months without blowing the motor. The dyno you you saw is the result of a dyno tune, so that the 12.5 afr that produced the most amount of power for me after a few hrs of dyno tuning.
