Home Depot diffuser
im going to make a diffuser from garge weather striping, it sounds tacky but as a 16 yr old who got "layed of" from his job (only hired for season ) i dont have money to buy a 200+ item right now, anyway what im doing is buying the weather striping and carbon fiber vinal from pepboys and wraping it around the weather stripping. this experimental, but if i like it ill keep it till i get another job to pay for the real thing. i want your honest opinion on this as i dont want to ruin the look of my wonderful car . again this is completely experimental and will be taken off if looks bad.
ive seen it done on an older c class (w202) it didnt look bad (well in his it did because the car was falling apart) besides the fact if you do it right it should look good.
Give me some opinions!

I would save the money for maintenance and repairs which are bound to happen. Besides, diffuser doesn't look that great on a C32, unless it has quad exhaust.

I would not do it, personally, but its your ride. I understand, sometimes its the process of trying that makes it worth it no matter what the outcome is. Make sure you get it to look good before you attach anything to the car. If it's not perfect do not bother attaching it.

I'd say definitely go for it and post pics. It's individuals like you that go against the norm that come out to produce the things we buy. Do not be discouraged by people telling you not to do it, if you feel you are capable of doing got for it. Of course make sure it looks good.

if your talking about a front lip I encourage u do it but I also think it wont hold on for much too long, if its a diffuser I say GO FOR IT. I can appreciate what your doing and hope u have a good outcome.
as far as what the other guy said, its true. I myself (been able to afford it) have not bought a diffuser because I think it was made for dual exhuast but thats just me
good luck man and post pics!

I spent forever trying to find this... but if your dead set here's an idea and a plan already laid out. It doesn't look too bad either. Actually maybe I'll consider it as well to fill in the notch above my splitter.

Also, I don't know if you can buy sheets of ABS plastic, but with a router you could make something akin to this. The GTO guys were running these for a long time before another one came along. I think it's a bit too much 1 dimensional and would point up really hard on the frnot of our cars probably... but an idea:

Another idea and I have no idea if it'd work because I never messed with fiberglass, but you could carve some foam to what you'd want a splitter to look like, then put a few coats of fiberglass resin over it, with maybe some cloth. Then sand it smooth and cover with your vinyl.

It's a front diffuser, it looks great IMO. I'll post pics tonight. I was a little nervus doing it but it came out great! It's a 18$ DIY and its well worth it. Thank you for all the input guys, that's why I love this forum!
